Old Books vs Kindles
« on: July 24, 2022, 01:00:03 pm »
 :cat:

Do you read paper books or are you hooked on Kindle, Nook, and Kobe eReaders?  Just found a great book that is .99 for my Kindle or free to read off the Archives  (  https://archive.org/  )  This is so unbalanced!  All these old books on digital should be available for Kindle without converting through a third software like Calibre.

I like reading the actual book.  I love the smell of books.  I love going to the library and checking out books to read because they have so many to choose from.

I really hate to read anything on a screen, so I only read library books. I usually get 3 or 4 dozen at a time and then read most mornings and some evenings. Thankfully my library no longer charges overdue fees.

I like paper books, but the kindle is very handy since I have to run around a lot and it is convenient to carry, plus having a variety to choose from in one location.

If I want to read a book (which is rare) I would rather click a button and have a robot read it to me with provisions to adjust the audio for speed and volume or even pick a male or female voice. The only improvement I can think of is in the future the robot would have a way to sense when I fall asleep (which is highly likely) and pause the reading until it senses I woke up.

May i suggest there are other worthwhile remedies you can use to help you fall asleep and be alerted when you might wanna wake-up.

Before kindle, I always read my hardcover books.  I love my Kindle because I can purchase books for a fraction of the cost of hardcover books.  Plus I can store about 1500 books on my Kindle.
