I am a leftie. No matter how hard I tried, I never had nice penmanship. First grade teacher used to slap me on my left hand with a ruler every time I used it. My hubby is right-handed and has really nice handwriting but it looks more like a leftie's handwriting. You know, slants to the left. My mom had beautiful handwriting. I tried to mimic hers and it was a disaster. So, when typewriters and computers were the norm, no more cursive writing when possible.

I don't remember but I need to take it now because my handwriting has gotten worse over the years.

That was so long ago. My son is in middle school now and they no longer have calligraphy courses. It's replaced by computer literacy, design, and programming I think.

I thought that  was not an elective but part of everyday lessons.

sure in fourth grade. could  never get  capital  q though. .

Well, hopefully the need never arose.  :monkey: I can't say I've ever had to write a capital Q for any reason.

I did but sadly, schools are dropping the skill because of technology! So, I don’t know how today’s adults know how to sign under signature when they never learned!
