Are we scared to worship God?
« on: October 30, 2009, 11:36:47 am »
I recently read that 70% of peoplebelieve in God. I believe in God, and I also believe tha no matter what you want to call Him, as long as you believe, it will be recognized.
The question I would love tohearsome responses to is why are we all fraid to standup ad say we believe, in something.  Not only have we seperatd church and state, bu the kids who wanted to gather together at school and pray, were condemned, at least by thosearound them.  :BangHead:
After that is done we wonder why we ae oosing os many of our youth to drugs and rebellious behavior.  Now, ther is talk of taking 'In God We Trust' f the Aerican dollar...What is going o here?? ure, freedomof religion is great, but not total loss of God. Does anyone agree or am I just imagining all of is??? :angel11: :BangHead: :BangHead:

We're not scared of worshipping god. We're annoyed that people do it so loudly and non-respectfully that it makes us cringe from embarrassment. Things like this should be a private matter, but when people scream it and shove it down childrens throats or try to force it into everyones lives when it makes no sense of what you're preaching, or when people make dozens of religious posts on internet forums, normal people have problems with it. "JESUS SAVES!" "WWJD!?" "MY TREASURE LIES IN HEAVEN!" It's annoying as hell. Fear isn't the problem. It's rudeness.

Edit: reread your posts and make sure there are no spelling errors or weird spacings. Nothing says "I'M 11 YEARS OLD AND ON THE INNERNETS!" like these things.  8)

I don't think anyone screams or forces anything about God, if a person does, well so do people cus everytime we turn around, we have to listen to vulgarity far more than we get to listen about the Lord. I can't even turn on a pg-13 movie without my kids hearing cus words, nudity, this is the kind of obscene stuff that is pushing it.
This country is going far down the drain, down the tubes, why, look at the old days, tv, every word wasn't coming out bad, they fist fought, not brung guns and knives to school, so yeah, maybe if a few more people did shout, or tell the entertainment industry we are our not a bunch of cuss word swearing people who enjoy violence and nudity in every show and movie, we might have a better country. better children, and not so much hatrid and violence. I am a believer in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and I will shout it.

You are not alone.  I hate how they are trying to remove God from our lives.  I have raised my children in church and my oldest son is confused.  I just keep praying for him.  We have had so many blessings in our lives.  I try to use those to show him that it is proof of God but he just says yea mom that was lucky.  I don't believe he would have had doubts if it weren't for the government butting into our lives so much If I want to pray I'm going to pray wheather its in private or on the courthouse stairs.     :angel12:

You can say no one "screams or forces anything about God" all you want that does not make it true. I am from a strict southern baptist republican family and I know how they act as well as their friends. Not to mention the so called "separation of church and state" what a crock!

When will people (Christians) realize that the laws of separation of church and state and prohibitions on prayer/religious practice are actually there to PROTECT their freedoms, not take freedoms away?
