Do you think this is ok?

My husband wanted to go to CVS to pick up some things.  I took one of my little guys with us for the ride (he loves rides).  Yes he’s a cutie a white 10 pound ball of fur.  Anyway I’m sitting in the passenger seat holding him while he ran into CVS.  A couple of people walked by, smiled at him (he is very friendly), went awww or even waved.  A few minutes later 2 girls about 16 walked up to the car and tried to open passenger door!  Thankfully it was locked, the one girl told me they wanted to pet him so I should open the door.  Naturally I didn’t and shortly they left.  What do you think?  I’m glad the door was locked, this has never happened before and I was very uncomfortable

They really should have known better.Maybe they could have asked you if it was ok to pet him while door was locked or if you rolled down window.

Chalk this up as the youth not thinking.Unless you sensed otherwise im sure they had good intentions.

No, I don't think it was ok.  I like you would have felt very uncomfortable.   They probably just didn't think, but hopefully they will if it happens again.

I highly doubt those girls had good intentions. I mean they were trying to get into a car just to pet a dog? You need to be extremely wary of teenagers nowadays.

Parents still got to teach the stranger danger. All the love they have it is hard to do than it turns into the trust thing not trusting the parent what a circle. And teach the kids not to touch nothing is very hard too.

I would of told them no you can't that's  uncomfortable. Pet him he's not a dog.  How stupid they were.

This is not cool, NO WAY.  I would have reached for my phone and said Ima calling 911, even though I would not have.

That's very weird and suspicious.  My thoughts would be that they were up to no good and just looking for an opportunity do rob you.

That’s what I was thinking.  If I would have had my big boy with me, they never would have even asked if they could pet him.

Of course it's not okay. You knew it wasn't right and you used good common sense not opening the door. I kind of wish you had chastised them as well, but I realize that would have been rather difficult in your position.

I'm glad you took care of yourself and didn't get hurt.

You did the right thing.  You did not know them and you didn't know what they would do to you are your little guy.
