When I was in the Army they put us in the back of a dark truck at night and drove around in circles for a while, then dropped us off in the boonies with a map and a compass, so you BETTER know how to use them.

I do not read maps nowadays, I use the maps on my phone...

I can read a map of general locations roads and such. Its not that hard but with tech it makes it a lot easier but some areas don't have good cell coverage so a map be good to have if you are traveling through areas were there not many people

Who needs maps with today's tech? Anyway, no. And I grew up in a generation where we still used paper maps.

No. but I can follow directions, that is why we have GPS on our phones, no need for a map anymore

Yes, I like to read maps when I was young, and sometimes still prefer them even in today's DNA age where everything is Google Map on my smartphone. I thought physical maps are really cool and important for kids to learn still.

When I was in the Army Reserves when I was young, I was slotted Draftsman because I could draw.  When we went to summer camp, I had to draw the strip maps.  I learned how to read a map.
