Words of Wisdom
« on: April 18, 2021, 06:55:25 am »
I spend some time reading a lot of the posts on this forum, especially the last few months filled with doom and gloom, so when I saw this quote it really registered with me.

“It ain’t about how hard you can hit: it’s about how hard you can get hit
and keep moving forward.”

As a boxer, this line makes perfect sense spoken by Rocky Balboa. But it is also a
fantastic metaphor. No matter how talented you are, if you get put off by the
first setback, then you will never be successful. So keep moving forward.

I've thought about that line every now and then but at the risk of sounding gloomy, how many times will you or do you have to get hit before you say enough is enough?

Those are definitely words of wisdom - reminds me of the chinese proverb "Fall down seven times, get up eight".  Not always easy to do but what are the choices.

This is excellent advice, oldbuddy. Thanks for reminding us that, "If at first we don't succeed; try, try again."

I like what Jesus said better.......

What good is it if a man gains the whole world, but cant save his own soul.Math 16:26

It brings into play without loving or obeying Jehovah,im sure we can figure out the rest.

Off the record one of my fave songs by Simon and Garfunkel is The Boxer.

I suggest you read the book of Job and see how many times he was tested.

And he kept his integrity towards God when Satan claimed mankind wouldnt love or obey God if tested to the max.

Even at the request of his wife and 3 so called friends who told him to curse God and die or maybe he brought these hardships on himself.Job knew nothing of Satan claim to God.

God blessed him with twice what he had for his integrity and his 10 children that Satan killed you know will be resurrected when Gods kingdom governs the earth and Satan is abyssed

Not sure how safe it would be if Trump built it.

Thank you for the words of wisdom, some days I just step back for a few days and try and regroup then come back and give it my best; at this point that's all we can do.
