I put in the search for a aim phoneline free and I got their website which says they are focusing their efforts n a new program called aim call out which they want me to pay for. I guess they aren't letting new members have aim phoneline?

I know I can't find anything for the basic free service either. Everything is for the new Call Out...

What is the FREE AIMŪ Phoneline service?
The FREE AIMŪ Phoneline service is a FREE and innovative digital telecommunications service (with no fees or minute limits) that allows you to receive calls and voice messages using your PC.

Your FREE AIM Phoneline service includes:

a personal phone number which anyone in the world can call to have a live conversation with you over your PC
voice chat with conferencing capabilities for up to 19 other people on your instant messenger Buddy List
It also includes call management features:

Online voicemail: to take messages when you're unavailable and which you can retrieve from virtually any PC with online access or by phone
Online Caller ID: to let you know what number is calling when you're logged on
Call Log: to keep track of the last 100 phone calls you received
For one low monthly fee, upgrade to Unlimited AIMŪ Phoneline to add:--Obviously you dont need to upgrade to this!Unlimited outbound calling from your PC to any phone number (except 900/paid prefixes) in the U.S. and Canada. Calls to a number of international countries are included at no extra cost.
Advanced call management features including full online caller ID, call blocking, voicemail screening and detailed Call Log information.

Ok..... so you go to www.aim.com, then you click on downloads at the top of the page, then you click on Free AIM Phoneline on the right side of the page, then you will be directed to the next page. Where it says: Looking for AIM Phoneline--click on AIM Phoneline Dashboard, it will lead you to a "create an account" page which you can then create an AOL email account if you dont already have one. Then you will be given a local phone number that you can give out and others can call which will go directly into a voicemail message that they will hear and you will be able to listen to these messages from your email account. ALL FOR FREE!!  :angel11:
Hope Ive helped! Hey! Am I a HERO yet??? LOL!

I thought private phone was the same as the phone used for netzero.    I am looking for a new phone number because I figured it would be cut off when private phone numbers are cut.
