Racoon

We have a racoon in our yard, has anyone ever played with one? just curious

Raccoons are typically nocturnal creatures. My experience was that the babies, up till about eight or nine months, are cute and cuddly. They tend to become more wild at that age. My grandmother had a grocery store in the country and I brought home a baby raccoon-asked her if I could keep it as a pet. She said no so I snuck it into a cage in a store room that she rarely went into. At around eight months the creature figured out how to open the cage and destroyed the store room. It took me a week to get it cleaned up and several months to regain my grandmother's trust. I have seen YouTube videos where the raccoons appear to have become domesticated but ultimately, they are creatures born in the wild and need to be free.

Yikes! I hope you're not playing with it. Racoons are one of the top carriers of rabies in the U.S.

Please dont play with it. They can carry rabies and will bite. They may look cute, but they arent cuddly. lol

That doesn't seem like a good idea to me.  It would probably run when you get too close or strike out and bite you.

They are mean - maybe when they are real younger maybe teachable for a pet!

Years ago we had one come every night to a friends cabin for treats but they do carry rabies a lot

Nope,but one ate our cats food before nodding it's head at us through the window.

Another one drank a mostly full bottle of vanilla coke with half a mento shook up in it that I accidentally forgot to throw away when it didn't explode....it left a big present behind in the yard and had put the plastic bottle in our bushes.
Apparently,it exploded in the racoons stomach instead. 🤣

Its a wild animal and should be left alone.

Racoons in the wild are mean - if you see one during the day I would stay away from it - rabies.

Yes we have one gave it a brownie used it's hands to pick it up it was cute. Sometimes I hear at night  a running sound on my roof. Never see during the day.

No I haven't and I  wouldn't suggest you try.  They are wild animals!
