Watching the news this morning, a place was giving away food, not your regular canned and dried food, but produce and meat along with the usual foods. One Cadillac Escalade got 6 boxes of stuff. Next car in line was a Lincoln. So many new and expensive vehicles. The people that drive those vehicles should be ashamed to be taking these items. They are supposed to be for the poor and hungry.  If they need food, they should sell those expensive vehicles first. They can trade down. Then if they still need food, get in line.

We drive a 1998 Buick that has electrical problems. We've owned it since 2003. If we forget to remove the battery cables, the battery is dead next morning. So hubby made up a switch that you turn off and turn on the the cable. Don't know what or how he did it but it works! The only thing that works now is the heater and windows but we can't afford a newer vehicle. But, as long as the car runs, we'll have to keep it. Don't know what we'll do if it dies.  I guess we'll find out if that happens.   ;)

You should be ashamed for judging people.  They had a food distribution for my area a while back as well.  There was no income limit.  It was for anyone and everyone.  They had boxes left over that they had nothing to do with.  I am curious as to how you know how many boxes these other cars had?  Were you in line?  You should be ashamed for asking for a hand out!   Maybe you should get a job if you want food.  Oh you have one?  Then if you need more money for food you should get another one.  Pay your own way!

You say they need to sell their cars so they can buy their own food.  Maybe you should sell your car and buy your own food!  You need to go somewhere you can walk.  Or buy a bike.

Maybe, just maybe those people were picking up boxes for someone else?  Every think of that?  No you are too busy judging others.  I am curious - how many boxes did YOU get?  I am sure you got the max you were allowed.

Don't you read or comprehend very well? I SAW IT on the NEWS this morning. They showed the helpers putting the boxes in the back of the vehicles. So I'll throw one of your sentences right back at you...you should be ashamed for judging people. We DO NOT and nor have we EVER asked for a hand out. As long as we can afford to buy tuna and bread, spaghetti and canned veggies for soup, we'll survive.  A car that costs around $600 a month is not something anyone should have if they line up at the food pantries. That could buy a lot of food. BTW, I just gave up looking for a job last year. I turn 73 in 2 weeks but age doesn't matter. No one wants to hire a disabled woman in their 70s who cannot walk anymore.

The most humorous part of your post is telling me to sell the 1998 Buick with electrical problems or sell clothes. I never mentioned clothes at all, but that was hysterically funny. Sorry, but we need that car to get to the various doctors. We don't live in a town and the towns around here don't have Uber, Lyft, taxi service or bus service. You have totally embarrassed yourself by your post. You didn't read it. Shows how little you care for other people. Ignorant people have a lot of hate in their soul. I pray you will see the light some day.

lol.  Slinging insults. DO you feel better now.  I am not judging anybody. But you still are. You are still bent out of shape over this. Maybe they are picking up boxes for somebody else. You have no idea. But are bent to crap over the fact that somebody with an expensive car might have got a free box of food.  Maybe they had a good job and because of all that has happened lost their job. Saying they need to sell their car is ridiculous.  Like I said SELL YOUR CAR!  No, you do not need it.  There are other options.  If you can suggest somebody else sell their car then I can suggest you sell yours.

Nobody said you mentioned clothes. But you obviously have them. You need to sell them. You need to sell whatever is in your house.  Use that money to buy food. ::)   I am sure that whom ever owns the expensive car also needs it to get to where ever they need to go as well.

And no I did not totally embarrass myself with my post.  Did not embarrass myself at all.  Not sure how you think I don't care about other people. Go look in the mirror and you will find somebody who does not care about other people.  Sounds like you need to pray for yourself.  YOU are the one that is mad because somebody else got a free box of food.  I am sorry you are so ignorant and have so much hate.  It is obvious by your first post.  SO go pray for yourself.  Pray you can be less judgmental.  Pray you can stop being jealous because somebody has a better car than you.  Pray you can stop worrying so much about what everybody else is doing.

You need to "ignore button" cuntry girl because she likes negativity.  She's always verbally sparring with people on here.  I believe many of us have put her on ignore this person.

The giveaway is for people who really need the food, people who have lost their jobs and cannot afford to buy food but sometimes people just go get it because it is free.  God knows everyone heart.

You have no idea that the person driving a nice car did not need it.  People judge too much.  Then get all cry baby when they get judged. lol  Most times things like this you don't just show up and get it.  You have to meet eligibility requirements.  And they do not take in to consideration the make, model, or year of your car.  ::)
I know people who have picked up boxes or bags for elderly who are not able to go stand in line.  And if there are no requirements and it is for anyone that wants to go then it is none of your business if somebody goes that you don't think should.  You can go too.  If you don't then it is your own fault.

The pandemic has impacted lots of us...rich/poor, white/black, young/old etc., so it's hard to know people's circumstances and we shouldn't judge....but.... it does reflect a sad reality of our culture - we value material things and possessions, spending not saving, etc....people want things now and we don't prepare for rainy days....

You are doing the very thing you say "we" should not do.  YOU are judging.  You have no idea what the situation behind this is.  No one knows the situation with the car.  And saying oh they should have prepared for a rainy day - well then so should you and everyone else bellyaching about this pandemic and how they are having a hard time.  Actually most should be flying pretty high.  The ones lucky enough to get the unemployment and that extra $600 a week for months should have saved some of that money instead of blowing as soon as they got it.

Hopefully none of you will ever be in a situation where you go stand in line to get a free box of food.  But if you do I hope everyone judges you just as harshly as you have judged these people with the fancy car. I would be willing to bet most of you have stood in the free box of food line.  And while you are standing there you are looking at everybody else judging them for being there.  FYI there are people who pick up boxes for others.  People who are not able to get out or stand in line.  They do not deliver this stuff to your house.

Assuming this person in the fancy car was picking up for themselves....First off you can't look at a car and know the year. My car is older than most people think when they see it from a distance. But let's entertain that it is a new car.  Say they have a good job and they bought the car at the end of 2019 or even very first of 2020.  Life was good.  They have a good job.  Then cov hits. The world shuts down.  They lose their job. Maybe they do not qualify for unemployment. A lot of people have jobs that they don't. So now they have a new car (their only car) and are trying to pay for it.  They qualify for help via a free box of food.  How can it possibly hurt the ones who are crying.  Go get your own box and be happy.  Saying they should sell their car and buy their own food shows how stupid you are.  The same thing can be said back to you.  Sell YOUR car and buy your own food.  Just because your car is older does not exempt you from the rule if you make it.  Just shows you are jealous and don't want somebody else to have something better.

It aggravates me that the majority of the people standing in line to get the free box of food are smoking.  I could sit and brew about it and complain about them on the internet and try to get others to join me in shaming them... OR I can mind my own business and live my life and not worry about them.  I choose the latter.

I love when truth surfaces to the top and many of U here have proven that what most of us knew anyway RE CG.

It seems she functions better in her mind when she is in the middle of lying and being controversial.

That is typical for the world we live in and shouldnt be surprised that 1 person on FC has that kind of behavior.

And boy does she ever fit the bill.So either ignore her or get some laughs from the foolishness she displays.
