In July, I didn't get a bill for Comcast (bills come around the 24th every month), so I was late paying because that month I decided to pay my bills early and thought I did pay it until I got the overdue notice. I was charged a late fee which I'm fighting to not pay since it wasn't my problem their bill was never received.

Last month, the bill came on time....but this month I didn't get it until today. 10/2.  This is not the post office's fault because I've been receiving my other bills on time, so it's Comcast. They just don't want me to give them a good rating I guess. I've been having trouble with them for almost 6 years. they're the only company that provides services here so my alternative is cutting the cord which I want to do but don't know if hubby will figure out how to use the service because he is just starting to learn how to use the Comcast remote!

lol It IS your problem.  It is YOUR responsibility to pay your bills on time and to make sure they are paid.  It is not Comcast fault YOU did not take the time to make sure it was paid.

I don't get any bills in the mail.  If I do I also get them online.  I keep up with what I need to pay every month and log in and pay it.  I don't wait for them to "mail" me a statement and then "mail" it back to them.  Obviously you have internet access.  So just log in every month at the same time and PAY YOUR BILL!

I won't put my bank info online, especially to Comcast or any other bill I pay.  I want a hard copy of the bill because I want to see what I'm paying for....I don't trust Comcast at all. Like I said, I've had a problem with them for 6 years, but at  least I've always gotten my bills from them. They, like my other bills, always come at the same time every month but in July, I decided to pay my bills EARLY (two weeks early). I did NOT realize Comcast wasn't among them until I got the late notice. Once I pay the bills, it's "out of sight, out of mind" until the next month.

I always prefer to get my light bill in the bill for paper verification. Everything else is paid online through auto pay.

Your info is online any way.  Then banks, these companies, they all have it online whether YOU access it online or not.  You can print out a copy of the statement as well as the confirmation.

Either way it IS your fault.  Not that of Comcast.  You need a better way of keeping up with things. Write what you owe on a calendar and then high light it when it gets paid.  Of course you will need to LOOK at it and make sure it got marked off.  I get that things can get over looked.  But blaming the company YOU did not pay is ridiculous.  Usually they will reverse the late charge if you have never done it before.  But if it is a common occurrence they won't help you.

I get mine via electronic means and also in the mail.  I pay it online.  I write the confirmation info down on the paper bill they sent in the mail.  But if I don't get that paper bill I just print out the confirmation email.

I personally don't believe a person should ever have to pay a late fee. It's a horrifying concept because it's something you can avoid and something that makes the credit card companies rich.

If you slip up, some companies will give you a break if you call them and ask politely to remove it. That is, unless you make a habit of it.

Late fees and interest are exactly what keeps the credit card companies in business. If everyone paid off their balance every month, the company would go out of business and you wouldn't have a credit card anymore.
