I'm absentee and have been for only 8 years because I can't stand very long. This is the first year hubby will be absentee voting even though he could have done it for 14 years. I am worried, however, because we haven't gotten our ballots yet. Went on the county site and they have a note that due to COVID, they are short-handed so everything is late. We just better get them before the cutoff date for getting the ballots back, which is 10/29, so they're really cutting it close. Told hubby we've got to send them back by going to the town where the courthouse is (10 miles away) because I don't trust the mail lately.

Check online some states haven't sent theirs yet:

State      When are ballots mailed out?
Alabama   45 days before the election.
Alaska   25 days before the election.
Arizona   24 to 27 days before the election.
Arkansas   46 days before the election.

The State of NJ has a web site you can go to to punch in your name and address to see if you are registered to vote or not. I bet a lot of states have this. It's an easy way to check for yourself.

I received my ballot and will drop it off at the clerks office next week.  First time not voting in person on election day.

Thanks and it is very interesting watching the presidential debates right now. I am going to vote via mail in ballot this year to avoid going in person.

I received my ballot in the mail and took it down this morning and put it in the drop box.  First time absentee allowed for everyone and my first time not going on election day.  I was the first one int he building at 8am.  Glad I did my part.

I requested an absentee ballot for the primaries and never received it. So, I'll be voting in person for the upcoming election.

My county is just sending absentee ballots out today! Cutting it kinda close. I don't know if it's just our county or the whole state of PA.

Thanks, singletonb for pointing out that we all NEED to VOTE. I voted early in person already.  :icon_rr:

As a reward, I got a free pen that says "I voted" on it.

My wife and I spent roughly ninety minutes researching candidates for the various positions as well as state government proposals. We will be dropping our ballot off at the police station on Friday Afternoon. Our presidential pick was easy but we were unaware of some of the issues up for vote and did not know many of the supreme court nominees. We managed to agree on all of the votes except one which, after discussing it, realized that one of us did not understand the question or read too much into it. Forty five seconds after discussing our different answers we agreed and moved on. If only politicians could resolve problems that quickly. So many people have become disenchanted with the House/Senate and every other level of politician because they act to childish and are seen as self-serving. I am hoping that we can all move on after this election.

How can you not know if you are registered to vote?  You have to KNOW if you went thru the process to register.  You have to KNOW if you have voted to keep your registration current.  I remember going to the court house and registering and I remember that I have voted in every election since registering.

lol  I am voting on election day.  I might get a free sticker that says "I voted".  They had ink pens (at the primary) but they were for some local place trying to drum up business.  The point in the ink pens was so you don't touch what somebody else has touched but 2 of the election people touched it to hand it to me and the one that was wearing a mask took it off to talk to me.  ::)   Back to what I say all the time  - You can't fix stupid -  ::)  Anyway, I have kept hand sanitizer in my car for a few years so my "I voted" sticker is on the back of the bottle of sanitizer.
