Yes if you include feral cats. They adopted me. I was up to 15 of unwanted but couldn't let them starve cats and really was in love with a couple of them this past year named tiny runt Wags (because he wagged his tail like a dog when happy), Fearless, because he was never afraid of anything, neuro who had some kind of accident and his head tilted to one side, Boots, and one I never got to name. Wags, along with the rest of the males, were chased off by a nasty bully cat or something scary. So I was down to 2 sets of 4 kittens able to be on their own but only around the house. All 8 disappeared one night along with the moms. Another bully deal or something else. A commotion both times on the porch. So now, I'm down to a female and her 4 kids. Some tried to come back but were chased off the next night. Wags came back and was really scared, carried on and crawled up my leg. i wish I had understood because that night he was gone again.'
I know they're all dead. Wags never strayed far from home and neither did the rest of the males and I didn't know how to save them or help them. Suddenly, a week ago, another female showed up at the garage but we can no longer pet her. She's that skittish. At the same time, Fearless showed up. He comes to eat, get some friendship, and leaves to go hide again. He also took care of mom cat's kittens when she went missing. Gone for 2 weeks. She eats and leaves. Kittens stay here but I can't get near them.
All spring and summer, until recently, I've had to chase 3 'possums and a couple weeks ago, a mom raccoon and 6 babies decided they like cat food (I forgot to bring it in that night). They eat and wash their paws. Hubby and I watched them and tried to take pictures but the flash reflected back through the window and screen at the door. Missed some great photos. Talking didn't faze them at all. I now bring the food in at 9 p.m. every night by setting my alarm clock. So those are my "pets."
The cat I use as my moniker was my first feral kitten named Runt because she was the runt of the litter. Got her fixed and she was settled in the house and liking it for 2 weeks, then got sick and died. She was so loving. Oh, well. Getting hard hearted...going back to dogs. LOL
