Why do you brush your teeth before going to the dentist
« on: August 07, 2020, 11:03:45 pm »
If you're going to get them cleaned anyway why bother?  I thought about this as I was brushing my teeth before I went to the dentist.  I always brush my teeth before an appointment anyway.  It's like washing your hair before you go to the salon.

I always brush my teeth before going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. At least that way, the dental assistant doesn't have to dig food out from between the teeth in order to clean them. It's kind of like cleaning your house before the cleaning lady shows up.

I always brush my teeth and use mouthwash before going to the dentist.  It’s like taking a shower before you go to the doctor.

I brush so they don't need to work on my teeth any longer than I want them and focus on the areas that really need work.

Exactly...I don't want them to do more work than they have to...or for them to tell me I'm not doing a good job....

Ha!  Good question!  I always brush extra well before a dental appointment because I'm trying to impress them with my good oral hygiene.  I don't want them to think I have bad habits or don't care about my teeth.

I don't want to look in someones mouth with a bunch of food stuck in their teeth. I don't expect the dental people do either.

I don't.  I brush my teeth in the morning and at night. I don't change because of a dentist appointment. Nor do I floss before hand.

I don't brush my teeth just because I am going to the Dentist.  I brush my teeth everyday.  Also who would go to the the Dentist without brushing. The stench from your breathe is probably awful.

Pretend for a moment that you're the dentist. Would you want your patient to brush before they came in and you had to probe in their mouth?

Now, really; think about it. Some people have stinky poo breath. :P

Well, mainly because I feel like the hygienist or the dentist doesn't want stinky breath or nasty food in my teeth. Plus, why have them poke around any more than they have to.   :-\

I always brush my teeth before I go to the dentist and I'm sure they appreciate that.  I never leave the house without brushing my teeth.

This question is really weird. You should brush your teeth every time you leave the house, moreover when you go to the dentist. No one wants to see someone's dirty teeth and smell bad breath. I go to Dr. Jeffrey Gross who works in one of the best dentistry in Lake County, Ohio twice a year just for checking if everything is alright with my teeth. And I always brush my teeth before going to him. A year ago I had a teeth whitening and I was very happy with the result so I advised my dentist to my husband. He had crooked teeth and he decided to put on braces and since then his teeth look more beautiful and he has such a beautiful smile and I'm so proud of him.
