I have had to start taking meds for my cholesterol.  I tried everything and nothing seemed to work.  I would give the holistic approach a try if I were you.  A little research will give you some alternatives.  Apple Cider vinegar has become my friend.

My doctor prescribed meds for me to take for high cholesterol, but I declined to start taking them. I don't think he even knows that I didn't fill the prescription. :-[ Anyway, when they did a blood test yesterday, my cholesterol had slightly lowered. I have been trying to eat more healthy foods. It's not that hard. Plus I try to exercise and keep calm.

I know that all sounds banal and simplistic, but I believe in your own body's defense systems to a great extent. Wish me luck!

Yes, I have problems too! I do not like pills.
Any ways to lower bad cholesterol thru exercises or diets?

It is a big problem, I have changed my eating habits and lost 25 lbs, I rarely eat fry foods, and eat more fruits and vegetables now, And still my cholesterol is a bit higher that what should be, my doctor actually told me that is better this year than last but still need more work.  I understand that in my case is Genetic and no matter what I do it will always be higher.

I have had heightened cholesterol levels since I was twenty one. At age twenty five my Doctor suggested that I take drugs to bring the levels down. I asked him if I could go through another set of labs in three weeks and, after eating rabbit food for a week/fasting for two days My level of cholesterol was fine. I have had the same level of cholesterol since I was twenty one but my Doctor has said that it is more dangerous now in middle age. I told him that everyone of my family predecessors had the same level of cholesterol and I have yet to have someone die, as a result, before age eighty nine. I indicated that I would look into taking medicine in my eighties. There are all kinds of books on special diets that a person can do in order to lower their cholesterol if they want to.

My husband takes an herbal supplement called Cholestoff. I'm not sure how much good it does, but at least it's not getting any worse.

Some people have a tendency to make more cholesterol than others.  It is called familial hypercholesteremia.  I have it.  Mine is high and has been for the last 10 years or so.  I have not started medication although my M.D. has recommended it.  I do know that it came down a little and my "good" cholesterol increased quite a bit when I was exercising regularly and started eating quite a bit more baked or grilled fish with vegetables or healthy salads, meaning with dressings like raspberry vinegrette (not sure of spelling). I have to start that again as with this pandemic I have been eating quite unhealthy.  I guess it has been a way to cope, but I have to find another way.

Good luck.  I do believe diet and exercise can play a huge part in certain conditions.
