Geesh!  The nerve of some of these people!  I always get out of any survey that wants to get any of my personal information......not worth the reward payout from a survey.  I don't do webcam surveys either.

Not sure if "THEY" (whoever "THEY" is) really is listening somehow to everything we say or sites we visit online or on our phones.  Seems like I get ads/promos related to anything I do actually show an interest in.....

You will get ads related to things you search for. You have to have the camera on or microphone on for anything to "listen" to you.  I have all that turned off on my phone.  My webcam has paper taped over it unless I am using it.

Recently I signed up with a gpt site.  At first things were going well.  All of a sudden my account was frozen.  My first support ticket had the reply saying that they had to verify the offer I completed with their advertisers.

A month later, I again sent a support ticket but this time the site wants me to send a photo or a scan of a document confirming my name and address on my profile.  Examples of documents are drivers license, or utility bills.

I know that the terms of service page on some of these earning sites state that they can, at times, request such information.  I've never had to submit anything like that before and I'm certainly not going to start now.

Whether the request is on a survey or an earning site, there is only so much personal information I'm willing to give.

I have never seen anything in terms of service saying they can come back and ask for this at a later date. Only that tax info can be requested if you go over $600. I would never even sign up for a site like that. But people are so dishonest, we see it on this site, and have multiple accounts so they have to protect themselves. There have been people on here bragging about having multiple accounts no only this site but other sites as well.

I got a FC survey invite in my email that wanted me to hold my government issued ID up to my webcam in order to continue the survey. I nope'd right out of there. I don't have a webcam on my desktop anyway, but no way. Do you want my social security number next, and maybe my bank account number too? Good grief.  ::)

Was it a survey where you have to be 21 to participate? I have seen those esp where it leads to you trying a product. It was for some type of alcohol and you have to prove you are 21.  I did not do it but that could explain why that happened.

No, they didn't say anything about age. It was literally the first thing they wanted when I clicked the link to the survey. My address is probably easy enough to find online, but my ID has my driver's license number, height, weight, eye color, photo, donor status, etc. Way more identifying info than just my name and address. Great way to steal my identity, I guess.

I have not gotten anything like that, but I would have done exactly what you did, exit out of there, one thing is to ask for your email address and maybe name (which I would not give, or maybe shortened) but to provide my DL or Government ID, not way that is way too personal

That doesn't sound right, there are so many scams out here so be careful.

oh yeah that's kinda sketchy i'm glad you didn't just blindly follow along. that would've been super bad. i wonder why they would allow that on here but good for you for not falling for it.

Yeah I would not have done that. I participated in something on another site and it involved getting a product to try. But you need to be 21 to try the product. I was not interested anyway. But even less so when it asked for ID.

Why would they not? You don't know that it was anything illegal or something to steal identity. It doesn't necessarily have to be something she did not "fall for".  Maybe they just want to be sure people are not doing the survey more than once or know who they are paying? Idk.  I would not have done it either but I would not just think it was somebody trying to steal my identity either.   If you are really worried about a survey and you wrote down the ID number you can contact support but they don't care.  They will just tell you if you are uncomfortable doing a particular survey just x out of it and try another one. ::)
