Eating & deciding what to eat
« on: July 04, 2020, 11:36:40 am »
Eating and deciding what to eat is consuming way too much of my time and thought processes.  I am not that picky about it just is consuming an all important part of my day.  Are you eating any differently during the pandemic?

I'm definitely trying to eat better, more fruits and vegetables since when I was in self isolation I was eating more junk food then anything else.

I been eating a lot better but it is because I was diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year. I have lost over 15 pounds already and a stomach problem I had for a long time is a little bit better.

I've been sticking to the same foods since I'm trying to get these extra pounds off that I gained during the initial stages of quarantine.

You should make a list of foods you like and explore new recipes.

I gained weight at first because I have been sitting around more. My daughter and I were and still are making facemasks. In the beginning of the quarantine we just sat and sewed. It was impossible to lose weight. The demand for the facemasks isnt as great now so we have a little more time to move around. So now we have started dieting and trying to eat better. Trying to cut carbs to a minimum.

Kudos to you for including your daughter on the mask making and good luck to you on your health journey.

Yes.  Now that I have 3 more mouths to feed.  Instead of one meal a day we are doing 3, plus snacks.  I also think a lot about food.  What's for dinner is always on my mind.  I feel like  I am the only one concerned about food in my home.

I have been eating a much healthier and structured diet since the Pandemic started. I still have one cheat day but have been making healthy meals that contain twenty five grams of protein, minimal amounts of fat and lower amounts of carbohydrates. I schedule my meals for every two hours and thirty minutes and start every day with a protein shake. I have been working out at least six days a week and am feeling like progress is being made. I hiked a fourteen thousand foot high mountain with my daughter on Friday the third and she (who is in great shape) struggled to keep up. I slowed down for her a few times. It took five hours, we ran part of the way down and my legs are just beginning to recover. I invited her to do another on Labor day...higher mountain, longer trail.

I am making a big effort to try and eat even more healthy; I have never been a snacker so that is a good thing. Just trying more vegetables, fruit and doing a lot of walking. I know many are just eating more because they are working from home and or trying to stay inside.

I love trying new foods and different ways of making the same old thing but my husband is stuck in his ways and likes the same thing so there is little variety to our meals

I agree with you about food and eating, debidoo. It takes up way too much of my time and energy to pick and plan! If I can get through a day without night eating, I'm doing very well, LOL! Nothing much has changed for me regarding eating since the pandemic. I've worked from home for the past 25 years, so it's really pretty much the same for me.  :peace:

Some days it is hard trying not to eat the same things day after day, week after week.

I like to try new food often because eating the same over and over is rubbing me the wrong way (is that weird?) but I find myself eating more foods involving salad in them. I.E. chicken salad sandwich...any salad combo, etc.
