Covid and Houston
« on: July 03, 2020, 07:23:15 am »
1 in 4 individuals being tested in Houston are showing positive.  Texas has over 180,000 cases in Texas alone.  The governor has finally figured it out and issued a mask order to fight the virus. However, he still lets restaurants open at 50% capacity but is not supporting local areas in issuing orders according to need.  This is an indication of the virulence of this virus when it sees an opening and when denial, refusal, and ignorance rules.  Sustained economic growth is not going to happen until the virus is brought under a modicum of control. Wherever you are, stay home if it is not essential!

I have noticed less people wearing masks and being more complacent. I realize everyone is tired from being home but this is not over yet.

covid is  not going away. Wearing a mask and social distancing are about the best things we can do do to stop the spread.Masks are mandatory in Ma. and will be for quite a while.

I am noticing alot of my local stores are requiring masks before you can enter.  I do wear one so it isn't a problem for me.
My drugstore has masks for sale and I am a bit surprised at the prices.  50 masks are 35.00.  These are the paper masks with folds on them. What are the prices where you are?

bidding against one another for masks priced as much as 10 times the usual cost of 60¢ to 80¢ apiece. 3M can’t save the day on its own, but it’s promising a remarkably large contribution.

My friend's son and daughter-in-law got tested and it came back positive. So they got a second test. The first one turned out to be false positive. So which one do you believe? They have a young baby so they wanted to make sure they weren't going to pass it along to the baby or their parents. They've been very careful from the start. Anyway, what do you expect the government to do? the experts keep changing their minds on what to do from day to day. Very confusing. Numbers are down, numbers are up. Wear masks and do social distancing. Now it's wear masks when social distancing isn't possible.

Texas just required masks today after pushing back for so long and realizing the virus is not a hoax or going away anytime soon.

Everyone just has to take personal responsibility; I like many are just tried of wearing a mask but also realize that this virus is still here and at this point  doing what I can to protect myself and my family; unsettling yes, but unfortunately the new normal for awhile.

I am staying home other than one trip to the grocery store monthly but apparently not too many other Florida residents are because our numbers have absolutely exploded.

The amount of people testing positive, the numbers has continued to increase an the number hasn't stop rising.  This is because some stores have decided to open their stores/business.  Why are these people still not wearing a facial mask?  Do they still think this is a prank, with all those thousands of people who are dead - IDIOTS

The message has been consistent on several things: wear a mask, wash hands frequently, stay at least 6 feet apart, don't be part of groups of more than 10.  People have to use common sense and have responsibility for themselves as well as listen to doctors and scientists.  Not political figures unless such political figure is obviously basing their decisions on data and concern for people.

People who test positive for the antibodies don't always show any symptoms at all. The latest statistic I heard about the death rate from the virus is under 2%.

I still say there is an overblown sense of fear about a virus. And I think the fans are flamed by the media and others that tend to profit off the hysteria.

Those who are vulnerable should be more cautious until the season passes. The rest of us should go about business as usual and be as vigilant as you would be normally in the flu season. Just my take on it.   :dontknow:

Proverbs 14:16
English Standard Version
16 One who is wise is cautious[a] and turns away from evil,
but a fool is reckless and careless.

Perfect scripture describing how some view this virus
