Please Pray
« on: June 23, 2020, 06:53:48 am »
First i apologize if this is long.  I have a close friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 months before I was.  After all the tests we both were staged as stage 3.  We both had the surgery, chemo, and radiation.  As the year went we both were holding our own, however later Donna found hers had spread again, which now moved her to stage 4. She was put on meds to help her and things seemed to be ok.  After her last pet scan last month, her results were not good.  The cancer has now spread to most of her organs and there is nothing they can do.  She, as of yesterday, is on hospice care.  I know she will not survive but can you please pray she will not linger long in pain.  My heart is broken for her, and I know this is selfish but I’m now more scared then normal that mine might spread also.  But prayers for her will greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

I thought yours was in remission? Just because one person it spreads doesn't mean yours will as well.  You can't think like that.  You also can't just give up because a doctor says there is nothing that they can do. I know a man who was diagnosed with cancer and they told him he would not live through the night. He is alive and well today. Just sayin don't let the doctor make you have a negative attitude.  If she is saved and she is ready to die then it is probably better if she can go on.  Like you said to not linger in pain.  But that sounds like a bad thing to say. :(

Thank you so much.  She’s holding her own now, they are giving her morphine so the pain is not much now.

No, I’m not in remission, I am now taking an chemo pill daily and every six months I have scans to see if it spread.  I realize it can’t spread but unless you have it ( and I pray you and everyone never has to know this) every little pain you get you think...did it spread?  My cousin had cancer and she often said the  same about pains.  Thank you for concern and hopefully you will be right and her doctors will be wrong.  That would be more than wonderful!

I thought you were. It would be great if they were wrong. I was just saying don't give up. Sometimes doctors cause more problems than help when they tell people there is no hope. There is always hope. But what they say can cause the person to just give up.  I was actually thinking this morning about people who take "chemo pills" and wondered how that works if you are one of these people who cannot swallow pills.  smh Don't ask how that entered my mind. lol

You say you realize it can't spread? What does that mean? Is it a type of cancer that does not spread?  A woman I know had breast cancer and she had all the chemo and treatments and it is supposedly gone but she also said she will always have it.  That did not make sense.  She also had at least one breast removed.

Nancy, sorry to hear of your friend. Its  even hard to see when they are drugged up and not in pain they are in a state of passing away. The bible says death is an enemy.

We all have loved ones that have passed.True to the bibles words thats why its sad.

I hope all goes well with you and i will leave you a link that explains death and there is a hope Jesus spoke of.

CG yes it can and does spread, I’m sorry I posted that wrong, I was trying to say it can, must be an age thing 😁.  The pill I take is Anastrozole which is such a tiny pill I can’t imagine anyone having problems taking it.  According to my oncologist you are never in complete remission. He said as long as I have no constant pain and scans are ok, they can assume it has not spread, that’s why I have to go every 6 months.  My friend was having pain in her back and right side.  Scans showed it’s now in spine and liver and gall bladder

Then I understand how having pain would be scary. A lady at church just found out she has lung cancer and she has no pain, no breathing problems, no nothing.  I think a lot of the cancer popping up now is from stuff in our foods.  But too, long ago, things could have been cancer and they just did not know what it was. Maybe next time you go for a scan it will be gone! God can do that!
