Amazon prime rebate
« on: June 06, 2020, 01:35:05 pm »
I am a member of amazon prime and heard that I am entitled to some kind of refund for them not honoring the 2 day delivery promise. I got in touch with an agent on live chat to ask them what can they do about this. They told me they could refund a monthly fee for this. I was refunded $12.00 for a free month of prime. I know it is not a lot but at least they offered something :peace:

I have heard this or they will just add a month to your subscription for no charge.  I had the prime for a trial period and most of my stuff did not come in 2 days.  They always had an explanation.  This was before this cov crap started. ::)  The deal is it is suppose to come in 2 days after you place your order.  My cousin has got refunded or got a 2nd item sent to her a few times when stuff did not come on time.

But a couple items came the next day.  If everything kept coming that quickly I probably would have signed up for it.

Thaks for the information! With a family of four, CoVid, working completely from home and a higher incidence of Birthdays we have been using Amazon Prime much more than usual and two day deliveries have been completely out of the question for the last four months. I have a few items, made in the United States of America, that it has taken two weeks to get. I was also very pleased to hear that car insurance premiums went down, considerably, during the virus because no one is driving. Gasoline prices were very low for awhile as well. I will not be going back into the office until mid-July so I will continue stretching a tank of gas out for five weeks. Prior to the corona virus we had started going out to eat once every three weeks and that was another place that we managed to save money.

This is good to know.  I'm going to see if I can get a month rebate, I've been purchasing tons of stuff on Amazon since March when I joined Prime due to Covid, & some of the stuff was delayed. It's worth a short to try to get a rebate -- the company is one of the companies that was made even richer because of the stay at home orders.

You are not all going to be able to get a refund.  I had it back at Christmas and hardly anything came in 2 days.  There were a million explanations for as to why it did not happen.  With such an increase in use they can't keep up with the demand. Then there is the whole can't get people to work thing. People need to think about this when they are pushing for all physical stores to close and everybody "work" LOLOLOL from home.

One thing about Amazon, their customer service is great. When you're supposed to get a refund, you get one.

Yep every little bit helps is my philosophy.  A lot of the car insurance companies are giving rebates - mine only gave 15% on one monthly payment but hey it was a few dollars I didn't have to give them.

That's nice they refunded you as a rebate. At least they offered you something in return.

I had a lot of orders delayed during COVID, but other than that have not had any issues....Amazon refunded me once when I accidentally sent an order to the wrong address (I mixed up 2 #s)....they generally have good service and are accommodating....which is what they strive to be known for...

Amazon gets a bad wrap sometimes and I think it is usually by people that just like to cause trouble but I have been a customer of them for over 10 years and I have had nothing but good luck.
