casinos open again with rules
« on: June 05, 2020, 04:05:09 pm »
This past week the casinos opened up with a lot of different rules for entering.  Where I live you must where face covering and plastic gloves. Also no smoking or eating in the main casino. and half filled table games. that should be interesting

My husband and I have never been much for gambling anyway. On our honeymoon cruise there was this small casino on the ship. We went in there one time and lost $20 very quickly. Had no desire to return, LOL!  :peace:

I don't understand how people have money to go to casinos right now....with all the devastating impacts of COVID and people losing their jobs, isn't there more important areas where $ can be spent?

Looks like the Nevada Gaming Commission have many reopening policies in effect. Occupancy limits in gaming areas will be cut in half. Chairs and stools in front of every other gaming machine. Three players per blackjack table, six players per craps table, four players per roulette table and four players per poker table. Also groups are not allowed around gaming table. Casinos must also always have hand sanitizer or disinfectant wipes available for guests.

We have a casino in our area that put up Plexiglas barriers between the slot machines.  Apparently they have sanitizing wipes for you to clean the buttons on the slots. And I guess you are suppose to wear masks.  I didn't read anything about wearing gloves.

I am not into going to casinos.  I've gone one time and planned to spend $10 and that was too much.

In Las Vegas our casinos opened friday morning.  I was one of the first 5 in the casino.  There was social distancing, hand sanitizers, masks or gloves.  The only thing they did was take our temperature at the door.  They promised all these changes before opening and nothing changed.

I don't go to casinos often and right now given this pandemic; I have no plans to go anytime soon regardless of the measures they have in place.

I'm guessing the people who are gambling aren't the ones that lost their jobs.

Why?  If you don't go there then it does not effect you.  Why do you care if somebody else goes there?

I don't understand how people have money to go to casinos right now....with all the devastating impacts of COVID and people losing their jobs, isn't there more important areas where $ can be spent?

I'm guessing the people who are gambling aren't the ones that lost their jobs.

People, for the most part, are not hurting for money.  The people who lost their jobs are freakin rich!  They are getting an extra $600 a WEEK or $2700 a MONTH added to their unemployment.  People are making more money right now than they ever have.  The people who are still working are not the type of people to blow money at a casino anyway.  Most of the people still working are not even making $2700 a month then add what they get in unemployment.  Very few of these now rich people ever made $3500 or more a month.  And no they will not go back to work until they are forced to.

I do not go to casinos, never have, not sure if I ever will.  I don't know if I will spend me $$ there.  And even though my husband is furloughed and he is getting the extra $600, plus the unemployment $$, for us is not extra cash as some people thinks, it is about the same $$ that he would get on regular basis, and we do not know when and if he will be back, so I am putting what we are in no need to spend, away for a rainy day.  I have a couple of big projects to do in my 20 years old house, like replace the roof and I need to fix my kitchen, want to repaint the cabinets and get a bigger pantry (both projects will be at least 10K, and even though we saved up $$ for those, we are holding on doing them until my husband goes back to work, in case he does not goes back soon (or he will have to start looking for something else, and might not get the same salary as before) and when we loose the $600 (which end on July 25) we have some reserves.

So Casinos are not on my list of priorities.
