What to do if you lost your health insurance amid Pandemic and Job loss

https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/obamacare-enrollment-closed-qualify-lost-health-insurance/story?id=69934326

Here are three things to know: If you lost health insurance through your job, you have 60 days to enroll in 'Obamacare'.    (or face fines $$$)

But open enrollment of the federal exchanges might not matter. If you've lost health insurance because you quit or got fired from a job, you have 60 days to enroll in the federal exchanges by going to www.healthcare.gov.

There are NO fines. President Trump undone the "individual mandate" right after he went in to office.

And, if you filled the taxes out correctly you were not fined anyway. And it was not a loop hole or a trick. If you cannot afford insurance they could not fine you. I never had to pay the fine.

I was unable to continue coverage with my old carrier in 2016 and got several letters about fines and penalties if I did not procure a policy within the time frame.  I got Govt. subsistence to that end and only paid $95.00 per month, while the govt paid the rest up to $450.00 a month.  I think you were misinformed.  many letters followed to see if I was to be forced to pay that money back to the government.  ( It failed)  and I went on medicare which canceled the policy outright.

It is a scare tactic. I know people who have not had health ins since the obama mandate. And they never had to pay a fine. I was NOT misinformed. I KNOW from experience. I know from what I have seen personally. When you file your taxes and it asked why you did not have health ins just tick I could not afford it. The fine will be waived. If employer does not offer health ins and you do not qualify for the freebie government ins. - You can't get blood from a turnip. You can't make people pay what they do not have.

But NOW there is NO fine. Trump undone that. It is gone. It will remain gone until the dumorats go back in to office and reinstate it.
