Hating Chinese
« on: April 10, 2020, 07:41:57 am »
There is a new wave of hating Chinese people.  My best friend and her husband adopted a child from China.  She was 5 when she came here and is now 100% American.  She doesn’t remember anything about China and has or had no desire to return.  She has heard sarcastic remarks lately, “killer, go the fxxk home, it’s your fault”.  Seriously, what did she do, nothing.  If only those people knew her job is an ICU nurse in one of our hospitals, and she might one day help you or a family member, but she puts her life on the line every day and I’m positive none of her patients care that she’s Chinese!

Sadly so many of these widespread instances  of hatred have a birth place in propaganda spread by inadequate administrations. Our health system and ability to handle epidemics/pandemics was woefully inadequate so the inadequacy is transferred to a different country/nationality. Muslims and Islamic people were persecuted as a result of propaganda spread around nine eleven. Expulsion of Jews from parts of Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi were ordered by Ulysses Grant during the American Civil War. Other groups were/are treated less humanely as a result of their skin color or sex: Blacks, Hispanics, Women. America has placed Japanese and Mexican individuals in internment camps. Italian, Polish and Irish people were looked down upon as inferior. It is even evident in many of the posts that one sees here, on Fusion cash, as people speak poorly of Mexicans.

So very sad, but so very true.

People's ignorance coming through loud and clear. Didn't help when Trump called the corona virus the Chinese virus.  Made it so much worse.

Please.  It is the Chinese Virus or Wuhan Virus because that is where the virus originated.  There are many Corona Viruses, the common cold is a Corona Virus.

Ir doesn't help when people show videos on social media of Chinese people having loyalty to China buying up all the PPE equipment & shipping it back to China. What is happening/happened in Australia is horrific.

Some people are just ignorant, that can only be blamed on them... not because the virus originated in China.

There was the Hong Kong flu, Asian flu, Spanish flu and others such as SARS (H1-N1), ad infinitum. There have been so many epidemics and pandemics before but we've never responded in the manner that we do now. I have a feeling that there is more there than meets the eye. That's my conspiracy personality coming to the fore.

As for hating the Chinese, that's not fair. You can intensely dislike the Chinese government who perpetrates these heinous acts of absolute hatred towards the United States and its people, especially sending us their Wuhan virus by not taking care of things at home before they went worldwide.  :angry7:

But don't hate the people. They are not at fault. Their government doesn't give them the right to choose.

Besides, we're supposed to love our enemies, you know. God said so. :angel11: That may take me a while.

This kind of behavior is the ultimate in cruelty and ignorance. People just don't think sometimes. We just tend to lump everyone into a category and then choose whether to accept or reject that category and then be very vocal about it. We ought to pray for people like that, but it's hard to forgive them. :angel11:

It is a chinese virus however, the chinese people weren't at fault for it, it was the government.  We should not be hating chinese people here but should not be bowing to or extolling the virtues of the chinese government.

I don't hate Chinese people but I probably won't be eating their food for a long while until this thing is straightened out. Most of the merchandise in dollar tree is made in china.

I agree with you darkxtsuna.  Friends of mine who are Asian get "hated" on just because they are Asian.  That may be their heritage, but they are just as American as you and me.

I have never in my lifetime seen the hate that has happened against everyone as there has been since this administration took over.
