something different
« on: April 05, 2020, 09:07:20 am »
Last night we actually read books out loud.  Turned off all phones computers and t.v.  My 2 year old grandson had about a 2 hour melt down.  Totally didn't understand no video's.  It was funny.

It really is amazing how deeply involved little ones get in TV. Even when my grandchildren were just infants, they used to zone in on the TV the minute it was turned on. It made me wonder what it is that is so captivating to the little ones about TV shows.

What a fantastic idea.  I know this is a trying time but their are positive things that can come out of self isolation....spending more time with family is my #1.

Great idea, it is good during these times to have other activities; then listening to the TV.

It gives you more time to think about life and get creative indoors. Starting different projects.

That is something different these days. Years ago we did not have a computer or even a cellphone more or less a smartphone. we had cable television with limited channels. I guess it is good to pick up books once in a while

I sort of feel bad for parents now as it is harder to keep the kids occupied because they really cannot be outside either.  It is still chilly here in Illinois so they cannot be out even in the yard for too long.  When we were growing up there was only one TV in our house and my dad had control of it all the time so we pretty much did not watch that much TV.  Did a lot of puzzles, played board games, or read.

This quarantine is allowing people to reconnect with their family or fans.  Take the time to do something while at home.

Reading books out loud is a very good idea. When our boys were little, we would read to them from their favorite books. To this day, especially since they are home from college because of COVID-19, they are avid readers and have been reading more than usual!  :peace:

This is great.  Families are now talking with other, playing games and just enjoying each other.  What a great idea.  WAIT:  that is what my family did when we were children.   ::)

I think this is the best thing to come out of this too.  Getting some down time to spend with family and being able to reconnect.

Since I grew up n the dark ages we had no tv till I was 14 and it was only broadcasting a couple hours a day. We got all the news we needed in 15 minutes! We played outside even when it was cold.
