Coronavirus and domestic violence
« on: April 03, 2020, 06:46:57 pm »
Domestic violence is on the rise. Being at home all day, possibly with your kids. Some parents are unemployed and stressed. I hope this situation ends soon. We need to get back to our regular routine.

I keep saying, I think the cure is worse than the disease.  There are also women being abused, I'm sure, who are locked down with their abuser.  That's not good.  Alcohol sales have also gone up 55%.  Abuse and alcohol is generally, a bad combination.  Not to mention depression and suicide.

I have heard that there are some areas, I think New York may be one, where they have taken over hotels to lodge women and children, and in some cases men, where the idiot they are living with has no coping skills to speak of!

I heard somewhere that DV is on the rise as a result of the virus but thought that was just a myth of the social drawbacks of the virus, I sure will pray for these people.  I say people bc men get abused too.

I agree that we need to get back to our regular routine but I hope we all come out of this better, meaning cherishing family more and finding strength we didn't know we had.

Not sure if domestic violence is on the rise, possibly arguments since being in the house can get next to you and cause stressors and anxiety.

Domestic violence is on the rise, we will also have a baby boom in about 9 months and lots of divorces.  This stressful times seem to cause all of these.

I expected the baby boom, did you? I think it's needed too due to the death count that resulted from 19.

Do what my neighbor does. Just leave. Leave the kids to fend for themselves.

The baby boom? Do you even know what that means? The baby born right now was not conceived because of this virus. And it makes sense a baby would die from it. They have no immune at all. People are looking for something to blame every thing on.
