I think that's a pretty strong statement to make.  I can't think of anyone who worships money.  The fact is that we need money to live, eat and be comfortable in life.

A stereotypical analysis:
Money does not buy happiness, but does have power. Money keeps us from worrying where our next meal will come from or if our running water supply will be cut off. Money allows us to work less, take vacations more and give our children better opportunities. Money allows us to retire early and to give more while sacrificing less. Money often gets us out of trouble, buys products and brings respect we have not earned. It allows us to hire others for tasks we dislike (such as maids) and to help meet our goals(such as personal trainers). It allows us to pursue our dreams.

No, I do not love money, but I understand it is essential. I do not want a lot, just enough to comfortably provide for my family's needs and have a nest egg for life's unexpected events. I appreciate the good that money can bring, but I also understand it is not all it's cracked up to be.

As Americans, we are not as dumbfounded by money as we may appear. We don't worship it. We know it won't make everything better, but we are dreamers. Most fantasies are best left unfulfilled, but leave us to them. It's the fantasy we love, not the money.

I don't know anyone that worships money. Everyone I know needs it for the basics of life though. Food, shelter etc.

I don't think its about love, but survival, because without it where would you be.  Money makes life so much easier for you and your family.  Being poor is not fun.

Gotta go with the majority on this one...NOT just America. Money= access to goods and services. The more money, the more you can acquire. I doubt anyone wants to be impoverished.

We're just all greedy people well hmm not all greedy but the majority are!!! Money buys almost anything except true love. Now a days, money seems to even buy people and their morals or even respects for themselves.
