I picked up my prescription from the Doctor's office yesterday. Everyone was wearing masks and moving slowly as though they were in the virus epi-center. I took the prescription over to the local grocery market which was experiencing a normal flow of traffic. I decided to take a look around and almost all of the shelves were empty. Forty five aisles of near empty shelves. I am betting that all of the merchandise that was in the store could have fit into two aisles. I was happy to note that the ice cream section was fairly unscathed. I picked up my normal seven containers of sorbet and splurged on two boxes of popsicles. I received an e-mail, last night, that all employees at my day time job will be working from home until further notice. I went into the office yesterday. The company had promised extra cleaning staff and they never showed which made the few employees that were in office nervous.

I only go when they have the senior hours in our area; for some stores/pharmacies that is an hour before the store opens; but one super market the senior hours are 6:00-7:00 AM! We are pretty stocked in our house thankfully for now and basically only going for things like milk, eggs etc.. since it is just hubby and myself in house but I feel for those families that have their kids home all day because of school closures and the parent may be trying to work from home as well if their job allows or if they still even have a job. These are challenging times.

Another "go-to" gone !!

Due to the recent executive “stay-at-home” order  we have temporarily closed all Goodwill stores until further notice. As part of our commitment to our neighbors to keep all donation areas clean and safe, we will continue to accept donations every day between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at all locations.

I am frustrated over the toilet paper because when they announced not to hoard TP that there was going to be enough I was stupid enough to listen and comply.  I am going to pick up an order from Wal-Mart pickup in about an hour but I already got an e-mail that several things aren't available like my vitamins.  Oh well keep on keeping on the best we can.

I went to Walmart yesterday morning early.

*debidoo - I went to 4 stores yesterday looking for toilet paper.  Walmart had a 4 pack with mini rolls for 68 cents. We got that because it was all we could get.  And just one pack per person.  I finally found TP at a grocery store and was able to get some there.  I did find some one place that was selling it for 68 cents per ROLL.  smh

I have defended the people buying TP but this is getting ridiculous.  It should be back in stock now.

I went to Wal-Mart today because I had to pick up a few things.  The shelves looked better but were still kind of bleak.  The reason is that people are there waiting and as soon as they stock the shelf they are buying it up.  I can't believe how greedy some people are.

I would think that the first of the month would be a chaotic time inside grocery stores due to people having their EBT cards newly filled & stocking up on supplies -- can people buy Toilet paper with them, IDK

If you have a Sam's Club around you & a member, they have concierge services for seniors where they will shop for you while you wait in your car first thing in the morning before the general public, I would think that would be a good time to acquire toilet paper & other essentials.

The business at our local grocery store has leveled out.  Apparently people are well-stocked now.  And TP is available again.

I think most stores have ran out of essentials needed to live. But Walmart has gotten some of the essentials, but that was last week, not sure what it's like as of today.
