This has been a memorable St. Patrick's Day.   There will be stories told in the future of the unusual circumstances of self-imposed lockdown, the closure of restaurants, bars, clubs and something known as 'social distancing' occurring on St. Patrick's Day 2020.   I've got Irish on my mom's side and I kicked up my heels (at home) and enjoyed the wearing o' the green...lest I get pinched (despite the warnings of COVID-19).

May the luck o' the Irish be with us all.

Almost as bad as Santa becoming a Muslim.

Yes, my hometown sent out an email blast on Monday, Mar. 16 at 8:00pm to that effect.  Here are a few excerpts ~

As you might be aware, Dallas County today reported another presumptive case of community spread of coronavirus.


The City of Dallas is also ordering the closure of all bars, lounges, taverns, night clubs, gyms and health clubs, theaters, and entertainment or amusement venues such as arcades and billiard halls. (Read the legal language here).

Restaurants, for now, may remain open for drive-through, delivery, and take-out service. Dine-in service, however, will be prohibited.


As of this afternoon, Dallas has the most aggressive rules of all the major cities in Texas for minimizing and slowing the spread of COVID-19.


The underlying message has been consistent: Act early. Act aggressively. Act in the interest of public health first. Flatten the curve of this spread, and lives will be spared.


Alas, no St. Patrick's Day parade, no green beer or craziness and certainly no "Kiss me, I'm Irish" going on here.   LOL
