I think George Washington was our best president. He showed mercy to those involved in the Whiskey rebellion, kept a fragile, young nation together, and refused to be king when it was offered to him.

I am going to agree with the two answers immediately above mine. George is my favorite overall President - for some of the same reasons rghvac mentioned, and also because his brother Charles is my "five-times-great" grandfather. The History channel did a great three part documentary series on "Uncle George" last month.

Favorite President in my lifetime has to be Reagan. I didn't think much of him when he was in office, but I was young and immature and knew nothing about politics or conservatism at the time. Looking back now with an adult perspective, that man did some of the greatest things; had the charisma of a Hollywood star  ;) ; and had some of the most dramatic and memorable speeches of the entire lot of the 44 men who've held the office.

I don't have a favorite president. they all seem to make promises among other things and they don't keep them.

That is how I feel about Reagan.
I don't have a favorite president.  I usually don't like the person when they are in office, but, after they leave I end up thinking better of them.  Like Obama and Reagan and Carter and even Ford.  Good men.

Ronald Reagan, then Donald Trump. Reagan got a lot done and is quoted quite a lot. Those quotes are great.  As for Trump, he has kept a lot of his promises. I wish people would realize the good he's done for the country. I also wish they would realize that a lot of what he says at his rallies are sarcasm or just making a joke, but he looks serious when he says it, and the dummies in the media just love to attack him because he's not PC and tells it like it is. He can't be bought by the parties or lobbyists and they hate that, especially the Dems like Nancy and Chuckie. They have really shown their true colors over the past 3-1/2 years and it all started at the first meeting between the 3 of them when Nancy and Chuckie expected Trump to do this and he said "NO." After that, it was all downhill. I love it that he doesn't bow down to anyone.

Although I was not fond of his personal/sexual proclivities, my favorite U.S. president was John F. Kennedy.
