I got nosy and checked ebay for sanitizers. They have plenty and most are regular price, but a few are nuts and trying to profit. Saw one guy selling it for $38. Didn't find a single one on Amazon. I was going to tell you how to make your own but I see you already have a site. They did show how to make it this morning on Fox and they put the recipe on their website. I didn't check it out yet but I'm going to do so. I have a large bottle I bought a couple months ago at the Dollar Store and I carry purse-sized ones when I'm out but haven't used them yet.

They just reported 2 case in PA this morning, bordering NJ/NY state. I'm not worried about me because I rarely get out  but I worry about hubby being out there a lot.  A friend of his is really a germaphobe. He told his boss he won't be working until this is over. He jockeys trucks for a company and those trucks come from all over the country. I wonder if his boss will put up with it.  He's part time so that might make a difference but who knows.

Just keep your fingers away from your eyes, nose and mouth and you won't need hand sanitizer. Same precautions as for common cold and flu.  ;)

I hope everyone stays well with a modicum of precaution. :in-love:

I heard Amazon removed all of them because of price hikes. Just steer clear of cruise ships. I hear they are full of germs.

I haven't checked the stores for it recently but I keep it stocked in our office because my coworkers love it. Personally, I don't use it because of how it makes my hands feel; I'd rather wash my hands.

I went to CVS last night for alcohol wipes.  Sold out, so I went for alcohol bottles sold out.  I need the wipes as I have a diabetic cat and I need it for his insulin bottle.  Went to Rite Aid sold out went to Walgreens had 4 boxes of wipes left so I bought 2.

Check Home Depot & Lowe's ... they sell hand sanitizer there and most people don't think of going there to look for household products. They also sell toilet paper if they sell out in all the usual places & you need some.

Here's a recipe for hand sanitzer:

2/3 cups 99% or 97% alcohol

1/3 cup glycerin or aloe vera gel

For a stronger mix use 3/4 alcohol and 1/4 other.

Add essential oils if you want it smell nice :)

     Wash your hands frequently.
Carry wet wipes - in case there is no hand sanitizer.
Amazon - hand sanitizer supply depleted, because of
the corona virus problem. Other stores having similar problems.

Basically it is just alcohol and the aloe vera. Then if you want to add your own scent or dyes to make it fancy. I would like to do that just because.  I did see where alcohol in our Walmart was about $4 but I do not think it is jacked up.  I don't know how much it was before.  They had plenty of sanitizer the last time I was there.  But I have have someone send me pics of the shelves in WM completely bare. I do not criticize people for being concerned.

There was a story online earlier about a man who has this.  They are trying to find every one he has been in contact with and quarantine them for 14 days. I can see why people are wanting to have some supplies in their home.  This is also unfair to general people who have been in the vicinity of this man. Most people cannot afford to just stay at home for 2 weeks. I know I can't.

It doesn't matter if you can't find the ingredients. Those are disappearing as well. A friend was a dollar tree and the person before he bought every single bottle in the store.  As far as the guy who refuses to work until this is over - he most likely will not have a job.  I would assume that means you are quitting.  I don't think this is going to be "over".

If I had the emojis I would be inserting one for rolling eyes here.  smh  You can't wash your hands every time you touch something.  And this does not absorb through your hands so washing your hands is not going to keep you from getting an air borne illness.  I wash my hands as well.  So do most people.  But there are times you do not have access and using sanitizer is an added plus.  And saying don't touch your face is stupid too.  You don't even realize how many times you do it.

lol yes most people think of going there.  We are basically in a crisis.  People think of going every where.  I had not noticed anything unusual in my area. But last night my cousin sent me pics that had been sent to her of our local Walmart and the TP and cleaning areas where completely bare shelves.

I do have the recipe, but finding the rubbing alcohol & aloe vera gel to make it is hard to get hold of!

I always have a stock supply of hand sanitizer, soap and cleaning supplies as well as food staples on hand as well.  Have done so for years now.
Have a wonderful day!
