I rarely take naps.  Today, I was really dragging though so I laid down for about an hour.  I still work 12 hour shifts 3-4 days each week.  Must have caught up to me after many pickup shifts have been added to my plate.

Sounds like you are in the medical field.  I take naps sometimes, usually they are just when I am not feeling well.

Not because I want to, just nod off for a few minutes sometimes.

I try not to so I can sleep easily at night but I usually do.

LOL He's at the age where they get into everything lol  Bless you wonderful grandmothers for helping out, I hope you're all appreciated.

I wish I could nap some days.  I also keep my 4 year old grandson for my daughter to work.  He has not took naps in 2 years and he is a handful.  You don't dare take your eyes off of him.

If I am really tired during the afternoon I tend to get a few mins of sleep.

I was self employed for twenty plus years which allowed me to be the primary parent for about fourteen years (at which point the kids did not as much over sight). I loved their napping years because I would join them in sleeping bliss. Those naps were necessary because I was working in my study whenever they did not need attention. I have always been able to take a ten minute cat nap and be able to come back totally energized. We have a Quiet room at work and I'll head in there for ten minutes, take a nap, come back and knock out productivity at heightened levels. I would love to take longer naps but work gets in the way. Even when I am on vacation, I don't take longer than a ten minute nap so that I can optimize my time off. I make up for the vacation naps by sleeping a full seven hours of sleep.

When my kids were under 2 years old I would nap with them whenever I could, even if it was just lying there beside them. I breastfed all 6 of my kids, but that's not the only reason why. I liked having that special "me time", plus it gave me a much-needed break to get me throughout the rest of the day! As they got older & naps weren't needed I spent my time with them and doing other important Mom things. My youngest is 14 - YIKES! - and if I feel the need for a nap I take it. But it is very rare that happens cause there's always something else I can/should be doing. lol
