Masks for Coronavirus
« on: March 03, 2020, 07:31:57 am »
Do you have any and are you wearing masks?  I haven’t seen anyone wearing them where I live in PA, but I have heard on the news they are extremely hard to find now.

Masks do not really do any good, in fact they can make it worse.  If you come in contact with the germs, the masks will keep them on your face causing more exposure.  They are mainly for if you already have it to keep from spreading the germs.  The hazmat masks are not even available to the public, they are the ones that would actually help but they are being used only for health care workers.

I haven't even been out looking for them.  I don't think they do much good if you in an area that hasn't been exposed.  I am not getting to excited about this.

You cannot find them or get them where I live.  I have seen people wearing masks. But you have no idea why they are doing so. The one lady who had one on talked to me and she had just finished treatments for cancer. Which is NOW in remission. But she is needing to protect herself.  And the masks DO protect you.  If they did not then tell me why the nurses all have them on!  Wearing a mask will keep you from breathing in where people cough and sneeze and are too stupid to cover their mouth.

They are hard to find - I ordered some but they haven't been delivered.  I understand that Amazon has stopped sales of them & other similar items due to price gouging.  Terrible situation all the way around.

Please tell me you checked where they were made.  A lot of them are made in China.

I don't intend to wear a mask. I wonder if that ever helped anyone keep from contracting a viral infection.

But kudos to the mask manufacturers and vendors. They must be making a killing; so to speak.  :turkey:

Those in Congress who hate Amazon are blaming Bezos for the price gouging, insinuating that he's the one doing it. That's a lot of Bull, Sen. Kaine. He doesn't know much about Amazon and, by the way, watched him in the hearing on Coronavirus and he's one of them who are politicizing it to the hilt. Instead of taking his 5 minutes to only ask questions, he makes a speech and asks a couple short questions but he didn't like the answers because they didn't answer the way he wanted.  Patty Murray, toom, had a press conference that seemed to blame Trump for this happening.

The media is making it a wide spread panic. GMA says not to use the masks. Common sense is to wash hands and use sanitizer.

from everything i have heard or read a mask is needed if you have a cold or cough. is is meant to protect others from your germs. they believe that coronavirus is so small it can actually make it through the mask :rainbow: :peace:

nope, I don't have any masks and I don't plan on wearing one anyways. Sanitizer wipes are sold out here in my part of Washington State. I imagine the masks are sold out as well.

Not sure if the masks would work if everybody is not wearing them.
