We've marched right into the month of March.  And tomorrow is Super Tuesday in the state of Texas!  I'm serving as Election Judge at a voting center (we no longer call them "precincts").  I know I will need all the energy I can get to stay strong when we must arrive around 5:30am and wrap up after the polls close at 7:00pm.

I hope everyone is planning to vote!

I don't expect an answer today, but what exactly does an "Election Judge" do? What are your duties and responsibilities in that position?  In Ohio, we have various polling locations staffed by volunteers who verify voter rolls and signatures/ID of those voting; they distribute and collect ballots and the torn off ballot paper stubs, etc.  Then there are the county Boards of Election at a central location who oversee the process. I'm not sure if this is the same state wide, but in my county that board consists of four members: 2 R's and 2 D's who I believe are appointed by the local R & D party officials.


Does Election Judge in your jurisdiction fall somewhere in a similar place as those, or is there something more/different? I am just curious never having heard that term before.
