Remember this before you  reboot restore or rescream! your computer:

http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/

When FC went down for a few days I used this site to check and see if it came back up!  Works on any sites and has a running list of down sites and a comment section through Facebook if you'd like to contribute.

This is not always accurate.  I used this site as well.  I checked it right after it went down.  And it said the site had been down for a week.  I knew this was incorrect.  So while it is something to look at it is not 100% accurate.  I don't know what you mean by "reboot" or even "restore" your computer.  If you mean restart that is not a big deal.  But I do not understand why people who freak out and think there computer was having some major issue because one site, which is KNOWN for going down, was not accessible.  Especially if all other sites are accessible.  As soon as it happened I knew what happened.

You could also call a friend and have them try to access the site and see if they also get an error message.  Or if the site loads.  If you can access other websites then the issue is 100% not going to be your computer.  Unless you have recently changed settings and you should know if you had done that.

You are right. I checked both

https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

and

"Isitdownrightnow"  and got conflicting answers, but the forum and account pages Were Up, so I figured that was the part of the site these checked.

I noticed people were posting that they restored their computer and rebooted.

I don't remember the second site I checked it through but I did check too.  I never thought it was my computer but did want to know if it was down for every one esp when I saw people seemed to be posting in the forums but then there was no mention of the site being messed up.  I had logged out and went back to the forum so I was logged out and there fore I could not post but could see.  That is why I was not sure because apparently some were on the site.

I had a friend try to log in to see if she could get on and then tried to log in a couple days later from another location.  I trusted the part that said it was down for every one was just confused when it said the site had been down for a week.  I knew that was incorrect.  The last site you mentioned I found a couple days later.  My only confusion was where I was able to through cashed webpages get to where I could view the forums and no one seemed to be saying anything about the site being down.
