Because I missed watching Mad Men on AMC when it originally debuted, but started viewing for the first time in 2019, I am loving the music selected for each episode.  I am definitely a fan of oldies from the 50s, 60s, 70s (especially the instrumentals), but Mad Men has reminded me of several musical moments of the 1960s like the use of Kyu Sakamoto's "Sukiyaki," (a song about a lost 'love'), which was first released in Japan in 1961, becoming a hit in several countries.  The song reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts in the United States in 1963 -- one of a few non-English songs to achieve this -- and the only one in a non-European language.  Amazing.
