Does anyone watch The Bachelor?

Any fans of the show? Let me start right out by saying I am not a fan. Until Monday night I had never seen any episodes of The Bachelor - I only occasionally saw clips as commercial teasers or on other news or pop culture shows that referenced it. I never watched it because of what I perceived it to be = fake or manufactured drama on a scripted 'reality' show promoting promiscuity.


So I finally sat down to watch an episode of it on Monday and I think all of my pre-conceptions were verified! Was that a typical episode?


But my POINT for starting the topic (and for finally watching the show) was because my neck of the woods was prominently featured in the first part of the episode this week. After the entire cast went to Cleveland, which I live about an hour away from, the Bachelor and his Bimbo went on a date at Cedar Point, to ride the best collection of thrill rides on the planet. My current avatar here in the forum is taken from a Cedar Point ride photo with my daughter on Magnum XL200


That had to have been a cold and dreary day to be riding rollercoasters - I think it was shot sometime after the park closed for daily operations - they are only open on weekends after Labor Day through Halloween. But when it is wet and rainy late in the season and you are riding speeding coasters right there on the Lake... BRRRRR!!!


I almost felt bad for them.


Then the manufactured drama cropped up and I tuned out. The national spotlight on Cedar Point was over, so I got what I tuned in for!

I tuned in on occasion when the show was brand new, it was always dumb but it got trashy fast and I haven't tuned in in years.

Its like a bad accident.  I watch and can't stop, even though I think its a big fake.   Grrrrrr

I dont watch that show. Too much drama and I don’t think it’s real at all.

No, I can't stand the Bachelor because it's totally fake & way stupid to was you're time on!

I think it is one of the worst excuse and wastes of time on television for a show.

I am in agreement with most of you about the show itself, but I was hoping some FC'ers watched it. I was hoping some folks who were otherwise unfamiliar with Cedar Point perhaps saw that segment and thought: "Hey! That looks like a cool place that I would like to visit sometime!"

No I don't watch it.  The talk shows talk about it enough you don't have to.  I really am not into reality tv.
