Elevators
« on: January 18, 2020, 06:37:29 pm »
Have you ever been stuck on an elevator? They always scared me, just thinking if it stopped and I think about this large machine with strings taking me up and down inside a building, I also wonder about cameras. What if you get into the elevator with someone creepy? A serial killer?   :'(

Nope but I worry about that sometimes.

Never been, never want to be.  I'm claustrophobic so I'd go nuts.

I have never been stuck on one and I hope it would never happen, I'm not good with tight spaces for a long period of time.

I used to fear them somewhat. I have no idea why. I would make my husband kiss me the entire time we were in the elevator so I wouldn't think about anything else. I know; weird. But kind of fun too.

I don't worry so much about getting out of a stuck elevator anymore since I've seen so many movies where they do it. Looks interesting yet terrifying. But possibly doable if you're adventurous enough.  :icon_rr:

I've never been stuck on one but I don't think that I would like it.

I've never been stuck in an elevator before, nor have I thought about the possibility.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Yes!!  It was awful.  Fortunately we were only stuck for about 30 - 45 minutes but it seemed like forever!
Have a wonderful day!

Elevators don't bother me, but I've never been stuck in one. My husband was taking our dog outside early in the morning one day. He had just gotten into the elevator, and it moved only a few feet when the power went out, including the lights and console in the elevator. So he couldn't push the button for help. He tried calling me, but he couldn't get a signal inside the elevator. He was in there with our dog for maybe a half hour when the power came back on briefly but long enough for the elevator to move to the next floor. He had to pry the doors open to get out. The power still was out for several hours after that. Crazy.

lol  Yes.  I was not happy.  It did not last long.  I remember it stopping and an announcer coming over saying there was a problem and to remain calm.  I was a kid.

Not too worried about cameras.  All I am doing is standing there.  Also not too worried about creepy serial killers.  If someone makes me uncomfortable I would just get off and take the next one.  Back stair wells are not a lot safer.

With my luck if I got stuck that long it would be with some idiot who screamed the whole time.  Like that is going to make it better.

In a building with elevators if the power goes off they should just assume there is someone in one of them.  I would think you could have a generator that could power the elevator long enough to get it to the next floor and open the door.

I dislike elevators. Try not to use them at all.

Never have been stuck in one and do not want to be.  I have had them act funny where I got nervous but fortunately they kept right on going after a couple of jiggles.
