I don't keep up on any of this. I never understand why people in American are worried about England anyway. It makes no senses at all to me. ??? ??? ??? ???

Same reason people in Canada and other parts of the world are worried about what we are doing.

sfreeman8 said it the best -  I also read online she has spent more money in the relatively short time she has been in the royal family than anyone else.  Gold digger and is bringing him down -hey just my opinion. :moneymouth:

I agree 100%. I think Harry is making a huge mistake and one day will regret it.  I’m wondering if in time they will take his title away and his income from being ‘royal’. I think he’s a fool.

It sounds like that is what he is trying to do but I can't picture him in an everyday job.

It is their life and they should be able to live the way they want.  I personally do not see the reason for the Royals at all.

As everyone knows, early in Dec. key members of the royal family (Prince Charles + his son William along with Prince Philip all supported the Queen's ultimate decision) were known to be quite upset with Prince Andrew following his candid BBC interview in Nov. on his 'friendship' with J. Epstein.  He was "let go" from his duties as a Royal and removed from his offices at Buckingham Palace.  Prince Charles made it known he wanted to see a cutback in the number of family members engaged in fulfilling royal duties going forward.

No doubt young Harry, being the "spare" as he was referred to at birth, expects brother William could one day be crowned King.  He is seeing the handwriting on the wall?  Watching the way brothers Charles and Andrew relate to the Queen in the royal pecking order today probably makes Harry uneasy about his own situation as a Royal despite appearing to be so popular.

It's their lives and their choice to make decisions that effects their lives.  They will have to live with those decisions, good or bad. The fascination with the "royal" family is beyond me (almost as much as with the K-clan).  My personal opinion is who cares and what business is it of me?
Have a wonderful day!

What exactly is a "royal duty" anyway? Is it basically photo ops? Humanitarian efforts?

Royal duties vary.  They are called "engagements" and are published events you can now find online.  I was traveling in the UK once when I found them listed in the paper and was able to re-route my travels in order to attend the opening of a library by Princess Margaret in the quaint market town of Marlborough, County Wiltshire.

These duties include attendance to grand openings like libraries or community centers or sports centers, presentations, lunches, dinners, theatre performances, marking milestone anniversaries, visits to teaching hospital and many charitable causes that have a working member of the royal family as their Patron.

I think he doesn't need to cut himself off from his family.  He will regret it someday.  She needs to learn to act like a royal and not just be in it for the money or fame.

Meghan seems like a gold digger, shallow and wants lots of attention. I agree with others and Harry is making a mistake.

Harry is so far removed from being an heir to the throne, I think it makes sense.  Let them live their lives in a way that works for them.  My heart went out to Harry when he talked about flash bulbs and camera clicks making him relive the death of his mother.  Good for the Queen for recognizing that family is more important than the monarchy "rules"

I applaud the queen for her decision.  She loves her grandchildren as we all do and she also doesn't want another "Diana" situation.

I personally think they should do what they want to do. Media be damned. No one gets left alone in this world anymore.

Your business is everyone else's business if you're a celebrity or royalty or both.

:fish:

I agree! Just like non-celebrities, they should be able to decide what they want to do with their lives and I don't think it should concern anyone else.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

I think that this is a new era and all countries need to abolish the royalties and thier way of life.
