Unrequested catalogs
« on: January 07, 2020, 11:29:19 am »
Darn I got 14 catalogs in my mail today and only 4 of them are companies I ever ordered from the rest are shared information catalogs which really ticks me off.  Even the companies I ordered one or two times from didn't mean I wanted mailed catalogs because I would have accessed them online. Oh well keep calling and asking to be removed. I hate junk mail.

I hear you loud and clear on too many mailings.  You can spend a lot of time trying to get off mailing lists.  I have gotten to the point where I designate a big box that I toss these catalogs into once I've gone through the mail I receive.  At least once a year I schedule a trip to the paper recycle (you drive up a ramp where they weigh your vehicle first) and I dump them.  I get paid per pound, but the feeling of relief is priceless.

I hate all  those mailings you get added to without permission. It is very annoying.

I get a ton of catalogs too.  Only the garden catalogs make it to my reading pile.

Yes, I get a lot of those myself from companies I've never even bought from or even contacted before. The waste of paper really irks me, too! But on the plus side, if it weren't for catalogs like that, I'd barely get any mail at all, LOL! I kind of think of it as keeping the post office in business!  :peace:

I hate junk mail too.   I recently joined a new site that I heard about in this forum.  SBKcenter, (small business knowledge).  They actually send you prepaid envelopes to mail back to them, for most of your junk mail, (but no catalogs or magazines).   You receive points and when you reach 2,000 points, get a $20 visa online gift card which can be used at Amazon, Walmart, etc.   From what I've heard most people get to $20 in points in a couple or three months.  I just started, so have not received a Gift Card yet.  They also take some junk emails and give you points.   I figure, why not give it a shot?    :moneymouth:

I rarely get catalogs but sometime I put return to sender on the junk mail and send it back.  Maybe after they get tired of paying for postage and receiving the same thing back they will stop sending it out and take my name off the list.

I will glance through catalogs if the cover looks interesting.  Otherwise, they go in the trash.
Have a wonderful day!

I get a lot of them also, but I look through them and the ones I want to order from(which I usually don't) I keep and the other goes to the trash.
