Only drink real coffee, but I have my favorite brands. I baby it up with cream and sugar, but I don't like to drink decaf. It's not the real thing, baby.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with caffeine, pectacon. I don't think I drink enough of it to have a problem. Plus, I'm cranky with real coffee.  >:( I can't imagine what would happen if I changed to decaf.

:fish:
Addendum: You will probably experience withdrawal if you're trying to stop drinking caffeine drinks, but the effects of withdrawal will eventually end if you stick with it. I personally don't see the need, but if you do see the need, then persevere. You can do it!

Thank you! Others in my house can't have caffeine so I figured I'd just get used to decaf too because there's no sense making 2 pots of coffee every morning. I'll get there in a few days I'm sure!

Just can't imagine how bad it would be if I was one of those people who drink like 10 coffees and 4 redbulls per day. Yikes.

I'm not a big coffee drinker but I usually fall asleep faster as a result.

I understand how you feel. I'm so reliant on coffee and don't feel right if I don't have a cup in the morning, too.

I don't drink decaf coffee because I need the caffeine to wake me up.

I drink real coffee, did not like decaf, make a pot of a morning and have the last cup around 3 in the afternoon.

I pretty much only drink coffee for the caffeine. My mom doesn't like caffeine, and drinks green tea instead (decaf). I don't think I'd ever drink much decaf coffee at all. If Folgers or Starbucks makes a decaf coffee blend, I'm sure they would be pretty good, though.

@claudegrizzle, my daughter bought a bag of Starbucks coffee and accidentally got decaf instead of the regular blend that she thought she was getting.  She doesn't drink decaf, so she gave it to me and I was pleasantly surprised.  I really liked it, and I usually think Starbucks is too bitter!  It was Starbucks Pike Place Roast, (for all you decaf lovers.)

I am not the person to ask about Decaf for sure.  I drink one cup in the morning and I don't want it to be decaf.  My sister and brother in law do decaf and sprinkle a little regular coffee on top before it brews and they swear by it.  But I don't drink it when I am at their house.

I drink about 2-3 cups of regular coffee every day.  I have several favorite brands.  As far as de-caf is concerned, I can tell the difference.  To me, de-caf has a bit of a nasty taste.  I think you have to get used to it and there is probably a brand or two you will like better than others.  The headaches is the symptom of caffeine withdrawal.  We don't think of caffeine as a drug, but it actually is.  I think sugar acts like a drug in your brain also.  With time and perseverence, your body will adjust!  Good luck!!

I recently also switched to decaf but didn't get the bad reaction you are getting. In fact, it helped me quite a bit by making my high blood pressure go back to normal in the mornings. Why don't you try mixing half decaf with half caffein coffee for a while to see if you can do a little better? I use Folgers instant decaf in the morning and it tastes OK. Not great, but acceptable.

I had to quit drinking coffee about 12 years ago.  I developed vertigo and the doctors were puzzled as to what was triggering it.  I had to start eliminating things (foods, drinks, etc.) until we nailed it down to the black coffee that I drank from sun up to sun down was triggering the vertigo.  I quit drinking coffee and haven't had an episode since.
Have a wonderful day!

I am not a huge fan of (hot) coffee. However, I do LOVE iced coffee, especially from Dunkin Donuts.

I, usually, only drink regular coffee, just not a lot of it.  Regular coffee is supposed to help protect against Alzheimers.  I do have Afib, though, so I try not to irritate it too much with lots of coffee.  I did switch out my pop to decaf.  I also have fibro so don't sleep much at night and, now, will fall asleep at my desk during the day because I'm not getting much caffeine anymore.
