Started baking today!  Everyone has a favorite (family and extended family) and the list seems never ending but I try to add at two different cookies each year.  I make a large Rubbermaid container for each family which seems to be growing now that the nieces and nephews are getting married.  So far up to 9 and that doesn't include my own home

I made two batches of fudge today.  I still have to make peanut butter *bleep*, fruit cake cookies and sausage *bleep*.  I will also make a cheese ball for Christmas Eve.

I do not like kitchens. I do not like to bake or cook.
I visit my local Cars/Safeway store to buy my favorite tea cookies.
They are soft and spongy...with lemon or strawberry frosting.
They are delicious...just my type of cookies.

Truly, that's the way to go... probably cheaper than making them by scratch anyway; definitely easier & no mess to clean up. Enjoy your comfort :)

I bake something on special holidays such as for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Other times not so much.

No, I bake a cake for church and that's about it.  I go and eat things other people have baked.

When the kids were young and still in school, I used to bake cookies at Christmastime every year because they always had some party or gala going on at school they needed home baked goods for. Now that they are grown, I don't do that any more.

Red velvet cookies?  Sounds very interesting to me -- I will search for recipe online.

I am going to make my fudge pie...again.  I mentioned in another thread I baked one on NYE, but did not bake it long enough {even at 55 minutes no less} to be firm.  However, this is an old, scratch recipe {found in a 1970s era newspaper clipping from Food Section publishing favorite recipes from a Southwest Airlines employee} that stated to bake till firm.  It's hard to tell when it is firm because it bakes a crust somewhat like a brownie on top.  I will use toothpick method to test this time -- if it comes out clean, it's done.
;D
