If it was up to me, I would get rid of cable tomorrow. My dad loves it so it will be in our house hold for a very long time yet.

It's been a few years that my wife has said lets drop our cable, but I always fought her on it as I'm not a big fan of change and not sure how I'd live without it. But Comcast just raised our bill by $50 and we lost Starz and I think another premium channel. So that plus all the new app based programs plus technology constantly evolving,....I think I am about ready to throw in the towel with the overpriced cable BS.
I just need to do more research to figure out exactly what I need and need to paid for to still be able to watch what I usually do (which isn't much anymore anyway!)

The key that made us go with Hulu TV was getting all the normal streaming (including live sports) and watching local news live.

We have DirecTV and are staying with them for now.  THey are expensive, but if you call the sometimes they have offers they can share with you to help your bill.  Someone mentioned expedite TV.  W hat is that?  I haven't heard of it ???

We have cable through verizon; but it is costly so I am interested in saying the responses here about other services, I have heard of several but never really researched; I agree cable is beyond expensive!

unfortunately we have only one option for internet service here.  We don't use their tv.  I have analog.  I do use amazon prime and pluto.  I do have problems with Pluto but I think that has more to do with my service.  It just freezes up on me.  I am liking Pluto's new line up.  Lots of kids programming that my grandkids like.
