Grocery Delivery
« on: December 01, 2019, 12:58:34 pm »
Well another one bites the dust. I have big mobility issues and so I had one of the grocery delivery services which I found to upcharge the food way too much.  So I tried another one which I loved the shopper but I realized they were double billing me on the BOGO items which added up to over 50$ in November alone.  A lot of money on SS income plus when I called them they tried to act like I was stupid but they credited November and part of my membership fee and I cancelled.  So if I have to shop a little each day I will I live close to the store and I'd rather do that than get ripped off.  Lord only knows how much they got off me from August to now.  That's ok Karma on them.

I can't stand when people take advantage of others who can't get around that good. You should try the walmart shop and pick up free service. or the amazon prime shopping. those are pretty good. I wish you luck

I think that it is horrible when entities/individuals take advantage of people. I started my first business based on the terrible way in which I was treated when buying a home. I went under contract a full year before the house was built and was never contacted by the builder's (Richmond Homes) lender until eight days before closing at which time they wanted me to jump through hoops to provide them with every stitch of paperwork known to man kind and wanted to charge all kinds of fees. Luckily I worked for a bank and went through the employee program which asked for my driver's license, wife's pay stub, and two bank statements and charged me half a point with no fees. I opened a mortgage brokerage three months later and always undercut rates and fees.

Oh, that's terrible that that happened to you! I have never trusted those grocery delivery services. I'm afraid that I'll experience what you did, overcharging and double charging, and I'm also afraid that they will pick up dented cans or spoiled produce or meat. i guess I like to be able to pick out my own stuff, but I feel bad for those with limited mobility who should be able to depend on such services without getting ripped off!  :peace:

I'm sorry this happened to you, but I don't think I would ever use a delivery service because I like to pick out my own food, especially meats and vegetables.

Also have mobility issues. Used Safeway delivery got all right but the price was to high. My son has been doing our shopping if he can't will try raleys I think they have really good brownies. They offer delivery service. If I had coupons to use wonder how they deal with that.

My husband has a family member who apparently does well with shopping delivery.  According to what she said, it's not really that expensive.  I don't know what all of that means; what's too expensive and what is not because I don't get home delivery.

But I will say that it's a big shame that you are not having the success that you should in grocery delivery.  You are just as deserving for this service as anyone else.  I hope you get everything resolved.

I'm sorry that happened! I tried one of those services one and only one time - I went through all the hassle of signing up to have some groceries sent to a friend who was too sick to leave her house. The person must have left the food at the wrong address because my friend never got it. At least they refunded me but what a hassle for nothing.

I have tried several different grocery delivery services and haven’t liked any of them. They either don’t deliver what you ordered, cancel your order, come late, give you substitutes that you don’t want, or hassle you in some other way. I do not like grocery shopping at all, but would rather shop in store than try another one of these subpar grocery delivery services any day of the week.

Do you know your neighbors?  You could pay a high school kid a few bucks and they can shop for you.
