Journalists for a newspaper, especially a local paper, are not professionals.

LOL, you have a point there. But they still get paid money to write articles for the general public to read - which should be enough reason for them to spell and conjugate things correctly!  We can definitely make an argument against their "professionalism"...

what really gets me is when people are like "we played good" or "i did this so good". i cringe everytime and want to correct them because they should be saying well not good and they would sound so much more intelligent getting it right.

We're not getting stars for correct grammar anyway. I don't mean to be grammatically incorrect, it happens sometimes. Unless and until the grammar police can arrest me, it doesn't matter ;D

One of my pet peeves is the incorrect use of "I" and "me."  "Me" is always the object of a preposition, not "I!"  I don't know why that bothers me so much, but I hear it used wrong all the time.  I was intimidated by my English teacher in high school, and I made sure that I learned what I was supposed to learn.

I catch them sometimes but never say anything.if they have written a long post and it's all correct then I look past the mistake.

I am not the best speller so if someone doesn't like that, I am not really concerned.

Not a great deal of the time but sometimes and it's not like my grammar is always perfect anyway.

Only on one specific girl. She always skips words and puts "are" instead of "our".

I sometimes will double check to see if the spelling is right, I may not be a perfect speller, but I can see fault on some things.

Sometimes I'll think to myself, "Oh, that's incorrect grammar."  But I would never in a million years correct somebody online about it. In most cases it's just not that important. Now, if one of my kids is writing a school paper, then I'll point it out, LOL!  :peace:

I just laugh at grammar nazis because they're just bored people with no lives. Their life goal feeling the need to correct someone all the time is kinda redundant. Good for them getting that brownie points of self-accomplishment
