I had a recorded call today from directv, it said for new customers they were offering their best package for $19.99 a month. We also have Dish and pay a lot, but I don't think we want to go back to Directv right now. You can maybe go to their site and see what packages they offer.

I have Dish TV but it comes with my Apartment Complex, If I was you I would just go for Pluto TV or Netflix, save your money.

We have Dish Network too and pay over 200 Dollars a month to them. I am thinking about having it cut off because My Husband and Kids are always watching Netflix anyway.

We used to have Directv several years ago. I don't remember exactly how much, but it was upwards of $160/mo. We canceled, got a Roku, and signed up for Sling TV.

We used to have the DISH satellite system. But we figured out we were paying way too much on TV, which we rarely watch anyway. Now we're on a Comcast bundle which gives us TV, phone, and Internet. And the price for all that is way cheaper than when we were with DISH (which only gave us TV).  :peace:

How is Sling working out for you? I plan to cut the cord in January.  I did a lot of research on the difference services and Sling programming seemed to fit our viewing habits the most. There are only 3 stations that weren't included in the programs we watch daily but we could adjust to it.  My cable carries hundreds of channels but only 120 on my plan...and out of those 120, we watch 30. Now they removed Turner Classic Movies and moved it to Sports and Entertainment package for an extra $9.99 a month. That would take my bill over $200 again. No thanks, not for one channel. I'm betting other movie channels will go to that extra package soon.

I would never go with Dish or Direct TV. My son had one of those two a couple years ago which promised $40/month for 2 years but within 2 months, the bill was up to $99/month and the promised stations were deleted from his lineup.  He wanted to cancel but they pulled the old "you'll need to pay the full 2 years first" so he stopped watching and got his cable back and paid on both until his Dish or direct TV contract ran out.  In other words, it was a bait and switch.

My bundle cost $203 and prices go up every 6 months. I don't know which TV package you have but before I had the Digital Starter. I have the Limited Basic and Expanded Basic now. I'm planning on getting rid of my landline phone, too, since I only get telemarketing and robocalls now.

Sling has been working great for us. We watch mostly Netflix/Hulu and not a lot of live TV, so losing a few channels that we used to watch was no big deal. We have the Blue package for $25/mo and added the Hollywood one for an extra $5 - I need my TCM! The Hollywood pack also has The Film Detective channel, which is similar to TCM. However, there are no local channels, at least not in my area, without an antenna. Paying for Sling, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu & Spotify all together is still way cheaper than Directv, and I never get rain fade!

Time to cut the cord... or dish in this case.    $200 is a lot of money just for TV -- I have a Spectrum triple bundle (Cable TV, phone, & high speed internet) with pay channels - HBO, STARZ, Showtime, etc....  & I pay $223 a month.   If that isn't an option for you in your area, just go to a firestick & netflix & the free stuff... there are a lot of free channels out there.

I can't wait to cut the cord -- no one really watches any of the cable channels in my house, it's either YouTube or Netflix.

I have never had direct tv but I know people who do and they like it. I don't think it is that expensive.

I never had directv but I know people who used it and liked it. Pluto TV is free and would use it on my Roku. Sling TV, Hulu Live, YouTube TV, Philo, and Fubo TV are good alternatives to cable tv.
