Woodstock
« on: November 05, 2019, 09:28:50 am »
Did any of you go to the Woodstock music festival and if so would you go to any of the reunions?  I was a high schooler at that time and was invited to go with these kids.  So LOL I went home from school and announced to my mom I was going which amused her greatly prior to giving me a resounding Oh no you are not. When I had kids I understood what a good Mom she truly was although at the time I thought she was ruining all my fun.

I was born in the early 60's, so wouldn't know too much about Woodstock.

I was an elementary school aged child when Woodstock happened. I might have heard a tiny bit about it at the, but because I was just a kid, it all went over my head. If it had happened when I was a young adult and able to make my decisions, I definitely would have tried to get there!  :peace:

Thank you for sharing your experience.  I'm glad that you grew to appreciate your Mom and her wisdom.

As to the Woodstock event, that was before my time.  However, as a musician, I fondly remember rehearsing for a show I was about to perform.  Some of the neighborhood kids sat around my front yard listening to my jams.

I called that my Mini Woodstock.   ;)

I never even thought about going. It was too far to travel in those days because none of us had a dependable car and no one really knew where it was being held. Anyway, my dad would've grounded me until I was 21 if I did go. I don't know anyone from my town who did go.

Too far away. Too weird. Too much bad stuff going on. No desire to go at all.

I believe I was in the young mom stage at the time and I just looked at it as more hippie, free sex and drug culture nonsense.  :silly:

Wasn't alive but I would have loved to have gone to the original Woodstock days not the festivals following that ended in more harm then what the concept was to begin with.

:turkey:                      LOL, that takes] me back.  I was only about 12 at the time and lived in the South, so it would have been pretty far away.  If I had been a few years older though, I probably would have gone.      :turkey:

No, I was too young to go but I would have loved to been there!!  If I had been old enough, I would have probably found a way to get there.
Have a wonderful day!
