What are people's thoughts on the NCAA decision to "let athletes profit off their name and likeness?"

Probably going to be some negative consequences to this. Will be interesting to see the final rules, but have to believe there will be caps and restrictions.

I think that it is a good decision. These young athletes risk injuring themselves at a young age with the potential of never playing professionally. It may keep many athletes in school longer rather than seeing them jump into the professional ranks as early as possible. By waiting longer to go into professional sports the young athletes may be more mentally mature to handle the large sums of money that they will eventually earn, rather than going bankrupt at an early age-as many of them do. I think that money coming from the schools in the way of scholarships and free housing should be reduced and the savings passed on to academic scholarships. After all, college is meant for education. Sadly institutions seem to have forgotten this in the wake of money made on sports.
