Landline Phones

I just turned off my landline with Verizon because I disconnected my internet with them. The price To have a landline without the internet is ridiculous! I always feel the need for a landline just in case I'm charging my cellphone or just want to talk on the backup phone. Is AT&T any good? Does anyone else have only a landline phone connected now? Most people don't because they have a cell but you never know.

I'm old school and grew up with a land line phone in my house, I remember rotary phones and a time before these smart phones people can't seem to do with out for a half second. I agree with you that it's good to have a land line if your cell phone is charging or broken. Besides, my landline never needs an update and that's a plus! As for AT&T, I wouldn't trust them. I've read online that they charge customers for calls they never made and unexpected fees etc., I use Comcast for my phone service.

I have a landline phone in addition to my cell.  I use Comcast.  You save if you bundle services with them.  They frequently have special offers.  It doesn't hurt to ask.

We got my mom a landline back because she never knows where her phone is or has it charged or turned on. I do like having a landline actually if multiple people live in the house.

I have a land line (no cell phone) and I bundle through Spectrum (TV, phone and internet).

Thankyou. I'll check out Comcast, But I don't need a bundle just simple caller ID, Call Waiting, no long distance.

I believe you because when I tried to sign up with them, they said that the system was down and they couldn't take my new customer order or give me a new number. Thanks for this info, I'll be looking into other
 options for phone services.

I have both with AT & T.  My husband refuses to get rid of the landline although only about 5 people (my 2 sisters, our daughter, our son and his doctor) ever call us on it.  We pay $ 50 a month for our landline and think it is a just a waste of money.

I'm not surprised. The prices for individual services are barely lower than the bundles the companies want us to pay more for.

grew up with a landline..miss it sometimes actually...but it's just me and hubby..we both have cell phones..
