There are a lot of opportunities out there today, but we don't use them.  $$$ is too imortant to give someone just to deliver something I can go get myself  :bad:

You think Door Dash is bad but Uber Eats is even worse! And, then a tip on top of that!?

The fees are exactly why I dont use the service

It seems as if doordash delivery fees went up. I ordered 3 items over $9.99, the delivery fee was $5.99! I then decided to go pick it up. Geezzz.

Your husband is a chef - how lucky!

If I was a person with money to burn, I'd probably use Door Dash once in a while, as I do prefer eating in. But my husband is such a good chef that I would rather eat his food for the most part. Also, it's not any big deal for me to get in my car and go pick food up and bring it home. My youngest son (20) usually goes with me and we have a really good time catching up on our week in the car. And given that my husband and I are pretty cheap, LOL, we probably won't be doing Door Dash anytime soon.  :peace:

My daughter was thinking of signing up, I'll have to let her know.

I think DoorDash was losing drivers.  That's why they decided to create a new pay model.  As the middleman between people buying and paying drivers they weren't able and willing to decrease their own costs so people ordering food have to pay more.

I delivered one order for DoorDash and my pay was $6.50 so I decided it wasn't really worth it to pay for gas and vehicle maintenance.

My oldest daughter tried registering and delivering a few orders too.  Her rationale was to make a little extra money for the start of school (she has a daughter) and the holidays.  She also decided it wasn't worth the gas and vehicle maintenance costs.  She did it twice, I believe, and hasn't done it again!

I am a member of Door Dash (delivery). I have yet to actual make a delivery, due to my job. However, I think that the concept of Door Dash, Grub Hub, and other similar services is very interesting (in a good way).

I use fast food on a regular basis, and I sometimes despise the inconvenience of having to drive to a restaurant. It is more convenient just to have someone else send my order to my home.

i have never used those services  before bc i was afraid they would be too expensive i guess so!
I have never used those services before because I would be afraid to allow anyone other than a family member or friend bringing food to me.  Who knows what they might do to the food (or what they might sample) in their car between the store and my house? The only time we ever had food delivery to our house was when our daughter was the one who was the delivery driver!

I read somewhere that 1 out of 4 food delivery drivers have admitted to eating some of the food before they deliver it. So not only are you paying more, but you're also receiving less!

Wow I am disabled plus can't drive right now until after my cateract surgery I had a delivery done through Door dash through my MyPoints and got free delivery but it was 5.99 that got credited.  Then Door Dash sent me an e-mail for 30 days free delivery which was a blessing in my present situation but I can tell you I won't be paying 5.99 after the special is over because with the tip that is way too much.  Weird thing was after that first time it has been 1.99 that has been credited so I guess I don't understand how it works.

I have'nt tried this service yet, but was thinking about trying it eventually to see how its like, or try another one without the high fees.

When you look at how much gas you would use for your order. Door dash is not so bad only if it benefits you. Always budget your orders and what it is needed to use door dash.

You saw the same slideshow I did, right?  The one about what happens to your food between the order and the delivery by the driver?   ::)   :sad1:   :BangHead:
