Have You Traveled Abroad?

My daughter will start taking cruises next year, I'm excited and nervous for her at the same time.

Went to London for 10 days with a side trip to Paris on the EuroStar ( 180 MPH train under the English Channel) and the biggest tip I would share is get an Oyster Pass for getting around and spend at least a couple of days using the Big Red Busses (hop on hop off) to get an overview cheap.

The latest was Canada where we drove the AlCan Highway through to Alaska and personally I think that is a MUST DO if you like scenic views.

Yes, I lived in Germany (for my job) for about three years. I actually miss those days.

I took the family to Hungary, Poland and the United Kingdom about three months ago and we had a fantastic time. It seems as if our schedules are getting tougher and tougher to coordinate as far as getting extended times together with a daughter that has joined the work force after graduating college five months ago, a son that is at college but has a steady relationship and a wife that is currently traveling to a few different states in search of a vacation property which will double as a rental. Hungary was somewhat pricey to get to but very inexpensive to stay as far as Air BNB's and food. We rented a car to head up to Poland which was also very inexpensive from a food and lodging standpoint. The United Kingdom was pricey but I made a connection with a woman who gave me a gigantic discount on a show dog.

Have never been to Europe and the last vacation out of the US was to the Caribbean for a cruise.  Would love to go the Paris and the UK but now traveling and flying scares me.  Too much bad stuff in the world

No haven't don't really want to and using a wheelchair who kno2s the problems I'd come up against. My neighbor traveled to Europe and said it was exhausting.

If you get to London, you can take a high speed train to Paris that goes under the English Channel at 185 miles an hour. Not much scenery, but it's quick and no flying. Now you just need to figure out how to get to London without flying.

I went to Italy a few months ago. It was a great trip, but a couple things that really surprised me was if you are out and about there are no public free restrooms. Few and far between you may find one, but you have to pay to use it. If you go into a store or restaurant they will let you use their restroom as long as you purchase from them. And also most restrooms that have multiple stalls are used by men and women both at the same time, it was a little uncomfortable while in a stall knowing a man was in the stall next to me.
Another unusual thing was hotels supply towels but not wash clothes. They consider a wash clothe as personal as underwear.

I have never traveled to those places or anywhere abroad. I would love to someday though!
