How are things going for you?
« on: October 13, 2009, 07:46:40 am »
I know mine sure is better. Now I have the Internet instead of a JOB and I only do what I want to do every day. I get up when I want, take naps when I get tired and eat whatever and whenever I get hungry. Have nowhere to go and all day to get there so it's one leisure activity after another. What could be better?

Twenty years ago, I lived with my parents. I was spoiled rotten and got practically everything I wanted. Now I had no worries in the world except going to school and getting my chores done. Now I have to do my chores AND pay bills. My life is good and most of the time I have no worries, but it sure was nice to have the Daddy ATM lol.  ;D

I'll take the responsiblity of adulthood over the trials of childhood anyday. As a kid who matured early, I was always frustrated by the limitations society places on children. I enjoy the freedom of making decisions and putting a schedule together that I can live with. We baby our children too much nowadays and end up raising adults who still act like kids.

I agree with you  ;)  I too was out on my own very young, a mother at 16 I had no choice but to grow up.  I did not have my parents there doing everything for me.  Now you see so many Grandparents being parents again while the kids are out playing.  Sad, very sad!  I know there are exceptions, but for the most part the need to be told to grow up!  I love my life, it has been rough - but it made me only that much tougher! I have 6 kids, and am doing just fine on my own :)

Well 20 years ago I was born .lol.  But i'd have to say since I got married 2 years ago life has been a challenge, especially is this recession. Four years ago I didn't get is as much what It was like to be on my own, but now I can relate to my parents, and being young for one, I have advice for my friends now. Never use to ever be able to give advice, cuz I didn't have as much experience in life. Life isn't so bad, it's just the people in it that try to bring you down.

Twenty years ago I was still a teenager.   I can't say life is better only because I would change a lot of things that I know now.  Twenty years ago I didn't have to work, didn't have bills to pay.  The only difference is that I have a little more money now.

Then MAKE them better! That's the only way it's going to happen. Being here is a good start, life blows without money and it's here free waiting for you to pick it up.

I notice that several responses mention teenage years when life is good and they didn't have to work. Remember, if you hang in there until you retire, it happens again only you have even MORE money of you play it right.

I do wish things were financially better for me.  It gets to be very stressful.
